The last two days have been overwhelming. I never expected the amount of support, love, and kindness that has reached me from around the world. Messages, comments, phone calls, and hearing from people I haven’t spoken to in decades have reminded me that I am not alone.

Speaking up was never an easy decision. It came after 38 years of carrying pain that was never mine to bear. Years of trauma, fear, anxiety, sleepless nights, panic attacks, and trying to survive while pretending everything was okay. Eventually, the weight became too heavy to carry in silence.

The past few months forced me to look at my life differently. I came frighteningly close to losing my life on two occasions, and it made me realise how precious life truly is and how much I still want to live for.

One of the hardest truths I have had to accept is that for my own safety and peace, my life without my family in Poland and Russia will be better and safer. Accepting that has been heartbreaking, but necessary.

I grieve for what happened, but also for what never was. The family I wished for. The love I needed. The childhood I deserved.

But despite everything, I am still here.

My story did not end with my pain. Today I choose peace, safety, healing, and the people who bring light into my life.

I don’t want revenge or recognition. I simply want to be happy.

And for the first time in a very long time, I believe that might finally be possible. ❤️
