Mel isn’t just the friendly face who has everything ready for you…

She also supervises me when I’m let loose with the power tools 🧰🛠 (trust me, it’s needed 🤣)

And yes — she is my designated spider catcher 🕷💪

This weekend is her last weekend with us and we’re honestly so sad to see her go 😭

But don’t worry — we’ll still see her running the bar at the Yacht Club, waving at us through the window 👋

And she’s already promised she’ll be back for the odd silent disco under the moon 🕺🌕

Right now I’m feeling really deflated.
I’ve just received a 1‑star Google review — not for the sauna, not for the experience, but for something completely outside of my control.

This week I’ve offered free mental health sessions, as I do every year. These cost me in wages, wood, products, and time — and I offer them because I believe in accessible wellbeing and in giving back to the community.
I also bring wellness days to Barry: free gatherings where people can access yoga, fitness, sound baths, and support local businesses.
These events are always full, which tells me they matter and they’re needed.

In a world where everything is getting more expensive, I’m constantly thinking about how to keep wellbeing affordable.
£8.50 — less than a bottle of wine — for something that genuinely supports your mind and body.

And with a 92% repeat customer rate, I know the experience speaks for itself.So why does this review hit so hard?

Because I’m human. Because small businesses feel the impact of negative reviews deeply. Because I can’t control what people post, and the old saying is true: the negative travels further than the positive. And because this one wasn’t even about the sauna — yet it still lands heavy.
