This Carer and Client duo spent a lovely, relaxing morning wandering Roath Park, enjoying the fresh air, bird spotting, and enjoying a sweet treat together after - rumour has it, the biggest custard slice the Carer had ever seen was involved! 😋 🧁

We’re already over halfway through Pride month and at Right at Home we want to celebrate our LGBT+ Clients and Carers.
Here are a few resources for elderly clients to help them find and grow their LGBT+ community:
Re-engage run a rainbow call companion service, matching LGBT+ people over the age of 75 with a LGBT+ volunteer for regular friendship calls
Consortium is a UK-based charity that supports not-for-profit LGBT+ organisations and groups and can help you find a group near you for your age group
Call Switchboard LGBT+ Support Line to speak to a friendly LGBTQIA+ volunteer. Whether you'd like advice about relationships, information about local groups and activities or just a chat about how you're feeling. 📞 Call 0800 0119 100 (10am–10pm daily)
Age UK and Fighting with Pride are working in partnership to deliver Operation Sterling, a programme to help older LGBT+ veterans, service personnel and their families.
The Operation Sterling programme will provide telephone-based support, advice and casework to older LGBT+ veterans through Age UK's Advice Line.
