Stress has a funny way of showing up in places people don’t always notice. For me, it shows up in my nails.

I can start a nail growth journey feeling confident, taking care of them, watching them finally get stronger and longer… then life gets heavy. Stress creeps in quietly, my mind races, and before I even realise it, I’m biting them again.

It’s unhealthy, I know that. I wish it wasn’t something I did. But stress habits are real, and sometimes people cope in ways they’re not proud of. Nail biting can damage nail growth because it weakens the nail bed, causes breakage, and stops nails from having the chance to grow properly. The more stress builds, the more the cycle continues.

So here I am, starting my nail growth journey again. Not because I failed, but because healing and growth are never perfectly straight lines. Sometimes you have setbacks. Sometimes stress wins for a moment. But you can always start again.

This time isn’t about perfection. It’s about patience, self-care, and learning healthier ways to cope when life feels overwhelming. One day, one nail, one small step at a time.
