This is why toenail protection mattersāespecially if youāre prone to trauma.
My patient came in with a split, lifted toenail showing signs of infection, including thickening, white patches, and pusāall classic signs of trauma and secondary infection.
We carefully removed the damaged area, cleaned and disinfected the toe, and applied a protective dressing for 24 hours to shield it from dust and bacteria. The toe will be closely monitored over the next week to support safe healing.
If youāre predisposed to repeated trauma, wearing closed-toe shoes indoors can help prevent further injury.
Alsoāstick with nail polish, not gel or shellac, to avoid sealing in hidden damage.
Early treatment prevents serious complications. Donāt waitāyour feet deserve the right care.

āØMums, letās talk about verrucas!
ā¼ļø Verrucas are common in childrenāand easily picked up in places like swimming pools, changing rooms, or even shared bathrooms. Theyāre caused by the HPV virus, which thrives in warm, damp environments.
How to treat them at home (safely):
⢠Keep the area dry
⢠Dab with surgical spirit on a cotton pad to help dry it out
⢠Cover with zinc oxide tape if possible to cut off oxygen (verrucas hate that!)
Important:
Avoid strong over-the-counter treatments unless recommended by a pharmacist or foot health professionalāthey can damage surrounding skin and slow healing.
If itās spreading, painful, or not improving, see a professional for safe and effective treatment.
Prevention tips:
⢠Always wear flip-flops in public showers or pools
⢠Donāt share towels, socks, or shoes
⢠Keep feet dry and clean
Letās keep those little feet healthy and happy!

A huge š to my brave 10-year-old patient today!
We had to pause the verruca treatment due to some bleeding, but safety always comes first. Weāll continue once the area is readyāhealth before anything!

Fungal toenail recovery takes timeābut every millimetre counts!
In this case, weāve made just a 1mm improvement on 3 toes in just 6 weeks āa small but powerful step in the right direction.
Donāt wait. The sooner you start treatment, the faster and better the results.
Fungal infections wonāt go away on their ownābut with the right care, they can be fully treated.
Start now for healthy, lifelong results.
