Learn how and WHY it's important to take care of your nails 🤍

1 - Hydration 🌼 This is the most important step in my opinion. Cuticle oil is pretty much all I talk about to my clients 🥹 Proper hydration helps prevent cracking around the cuticle area, promotes nail growth, and reduces the risk of splitting & breakages. Not only this, but it helps your manicure LAST LONGER! This means you can go longer between appointments, and your nails are less likely to lift or peel. So it's a no brainer!! (If you get a nice flavoured one, it'll also make your hands smell AMAZING all day 😌) 2 - Limit exposure to water 💦 Washing up, cleaning and general housework can expose your hands/nails to water & nasty chemicals. Water dries out your nails, which means you'll have to work harder to replenish that moisture (lots and lots of oil!) Nails also become softer in water, so are much more likely to break. 3 - Don't bite! 😬 Picking, pulling or biting your nails/cuticle area can lead to soreness, hangnails and even bleeding. Not only is this unsightly, but it damages your cuticles & can actually cause the nails to grow in an abnormal way over time. The cuticle protects your matrix, which is where new cells are made. The matrix is responsible for new nail growth and regeneration. If you pick or bite your cuticles too much, this can damage the matrix underneath. 4 - Jewels 💎, not tools 🔨 Opening cans, scraping off stickers, peeling/picking - these can all DAMAGE your nails! 😲 Try to act as if your nails aren't there, and you'll quickly realise how much you use them for everyday tasks! Any sort of force on the nail can cause damage, so try to find other ways of doing things.
