This is my lovely friend/ therapist 😀 she’s amazing! Xx

Hello! I’m Sally, owner of The Therapist in my Bag. I am a mother of two children and dedicated dog mum to my gorgeous Labrador Bertie. I am passionate about implementing my positive outlook in my work and get great satisfaction seeing people make beautiful changes. I am an integrative therapist and an expert in behaviourism with over 20 years experience, helping my clients make significant shifts in their lives using various techniques, taking them to where they want to be.

I have studied personal development for over 20 years, initially working with Energy Balancing body treatments but then branching out into Tera Mai Reiki/Seichem to Master level. I now regularly teach workshops in levels 1-3 and various other self improvement workshops. As my interest grew, I continued my studies enhancing my knowledge in EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) and am fully AAMET qualified. I then went on to develop my skills and become an NLP Practitioner (Neuro Linguistic Programming) and then qualified as a Clinical Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapist and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprogramming.)

I use a blend of therapies creating bespoke online programmes to help women make amazing and beautiful changes. The way we act and react to people and circumstances in adult life is completely generated from childhood. The patterns and limited beliefs we picked up as children have a huge impact. This can cause distorted thought processes as adults. I am here to help you make positive changes so you can live the life you deserve 💜

Right then! After my post last week, I’ve had quite a few messages over the weekend asking how the Gastric Band Hypnosis works, so I said I’d post here incase there’s other people who might like to understand. I know some people don’t like asking questions so here we go…

Gastric band hypnotherapy works by putting the client under hypnosis, and with the use of powerful suggestions to the subconscious parts ( where your bad habits and old unhelpful programming lurks unbeknown to you consciously!)

The suggestions to the client, that they've undertaken an actual Gastric band operation procedure is designed to be feel very realistic. In my experience, clients even say afterwards that they have a tight sensation around where the band was fitted. This session can greatly help them manage portion control in the conscious state.

While hypnosis for weight loss is nothing new, the virtual gastric band approach has really grown in popularity with some fantastic results over the last few years.

Hypnosis can work extremely well for all types of people seeking help with weight loss, whether it’s half a stone you want to shift or a lot more than that. You will find you simply feel satisfied after a small amount of food.

Are you aware your stomach is only the size of your fist? It may have been stretched with over eating & overly filled plates, but it soon shrinks down after the surgery session.

Most people don’t know where there stomach is, as I found out after treating many people. It’s actually on the left side, the opposite side to your liver. I’ll post a picture to show you what it looks like.

People's motivations and triggers for eating or overeating can be very different. I always help my clients to identify & look out for when they are about to habitually or emotionally eat… even though they’ve checked in with their body & know it’s definitely not real physical hunger due to the band.

So I always include a snazzy little tool to deal with when an emotional time may pop up & trigger an old habitual response of hitting the snack cupboard! This little gem arms them well & works a treat at calming the emotions down.

It’s important to check in with your body before you go to eat, as a lot of reasons people head for the fridge is often boredom, so the conscious part has to get on bored & do it’s bit too. The good news is It doesn’t take long to tweak & once the lbs start dropping off it’s even easier. The results are so worth the little tweaks!

I hope that’s given you some useful insight. The one time I would say don’t have this done, is if you are going through real turmoil in life, like losing a loved one, or if very emotional after a break up or divorce for eg. I would say, you really have to be in a ‘normal’ for you, headspace. With the best will in the world, if you’re experiencing new grief or any other deeply upsetting situation, my advice would be to wait until you’re on more of an even keel.
