THE SKIN doesn’t need a 7-step routine.

It needs the right routine, done consistently. 🤍

One of the biggest mistakes I see is people trying to fix everything at once 🫠 acne, pigmentation, texture, dryness, sensitivity and then wondering why their skin feels overwhelmed.

Different skin types need different things, but the principle is always the same:

Stop throwing everything at your skin and start giving it what it actually needs.

✨ Acne-prone skin needs consistency, control and barrier support, not constant product switching.

✨ Dry skin needs nourishment and repair, not harsh cleansers that leave it feeling tight.

✨ Pigmentation needs patience, protection and targeted ingredients, not aggressive treatments every five minutes.

✨ Sensitive skin needs simplicity, not a routine full of actives, fragrance and “just in case” products.

✨ Mature skin needs prevention, protection and strength, not waiting until the skin is already struggling.

When you understand your skin properly, everything becomes easier.

Simple doesn’t always mean basic.
Simple means intentional.

And intentional skincare will always beat an overloaded routine. ✨

Makeup wipes might be quick… but they are not a proper cleanse 👀

Wipes don’t actually clean the skin, they just smear makeup, SPF, oil, sweat and bacteria around the face. So even if your skin looks clean, there can still be residue sitting in the pores.

And that leftover residue? That’s what can contribute to congestion, irritation, breakouts and that dull, bumpy texture over time.

They’re also harsh on the barrier because of all the rubbing and tugging, especially if your skin is acne-prone, sensitive or already irritated.

Wipes are fine as an emergency option.. JOKE not even then ❌

Your skin needs a proper cleanser that actually lifts everything off without stripping the life out of your barrier 🤍

For so many years, my focus has been on looking after everyone else.

Helping clients feel confident in their skin.
Supporting them through their skin journeys.
Creating a space where they can switch off, feel looked after, and leave feeling a little more like themselves again 🤍

And honestly, I love that part of my business. I always will.

But somewhere along the way, I realised that growth doesn’t always mean doing more, working harder, or constantly pouring from an empty cup.

Sometimes growth means creating more space.

More space to help people.
More space to share knowledge.
More space to make an impact.
And more space to breathe.

That’s a huge part of why I started offering online masterclasses alongside my clinic work.

Not because I’m stepping away from treating clients, but because education allows me to support and empower even more professionals within our industry.

It means the knowledge I’ve built over years in clinic can now help other skin specialists feel more confident, more capable, and more in control of the results they’re creating.

And I think that’s such a powerful reminder…

We don’t have to choose between serving others and looking after ourselves.

Sometimes the most sustainable growth comes from finding new ways to do both.

So if you’ve been running on empty lately, constantly giving, constantly showing up, constantly putting everyone else first…

Consider this your reminder to pause, recharge, and give yourself the same care you so freely give to everyone else 🤍

Before you spend money on ANOTHER skincare product… ask yourself this first 👀

Because most of the time, the problem isn’t that you haven’t found the magic product yet.

It’s that your current routine hasn’t actually been given the chance to work.

Ask yourself:

✨ Have I been consistent?
✨ Am I wearing SPF every single day?
✨ Have I given my products at least 12 weeks?
✨ Have I supported my skin barrier properly?

Because I can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen clients spend hundreds chasing the next cleanser, serum, toner or “skin-saving” product…

When the missing piece was never another product.

It was consistency.
It was patience.
It was protection.
It was barrier repair.

The skincare industry wants you to believe the next product in your basket is going to fix everything.

But real skin results are usually built through simple habits, repeated properly, over time.

So before you buy another product, make sure you’ve nailed these four things first 🤍

This could be why you’re breaking out after dermaplaning… 👀✨

I hear this all the time:
“I had dermaplaning once and it made me break out.”

But honestly? In most cases, it’s not the dermaplaning itself causing the issue.

It’s usually a combination of your skin already being reactive, your current skincare routine, strong actives like retinol or tretinoin, and how the treatment has actually been performed.

Dermaplaning is physical exfoliation, so your skin needs to be in the right place to tolerate that level of renewal. If your barrier is already compromised, sensitised, overloaded or irritated, dermaplaning can sometimes tip it over the edge.

Technique matters too.

I take a very gentle, controlled approach and avoid unnecessary add-ons like heavy products, fragrance, masks or anything that could overwhelm the skin afterwards.

Because after dermaplaning, your skin is freshly exfoliated and more vulnerable, meaning everything applied after the treatment matters even more! skincare, makeup, touching your face, sweating, even your aftercare.

This is why dermaplaning should never just be treated like a quick shave of the face.

When it’s done properly, with the right prep, the right technique and the right aftercare, it can leave the skin feeling so smooth, fresh and glowy 🤍

If you came to me with a skin concern and I could only recommend ONE thing to start with, these would be my picks.

Not because they’re trendy. Not because they’re expensive. But because they’re products and treatments I genuinely trust and recommend time and time again.

The truth is, most people don’t need more products. They need the right product for their concern and the consistency to stick with it.

✨ Persistent acne? I’d focus on tackling the bacteria and inflammation.

✨ Sensitive skin? I’d prioritise repairing and supporting your skin barrier.

✨ Pigmentation? Protection comes before correction.

✨ Fine lines? Retinoids remain one of the most researched ingredients available.

✨ Dark under eyes? Sometimes skincare can only take you so far, which is where advanced treatments can make all the difference.

Remember, skincare isn’t one-size-fits-all. What works for one person may not be the best choice for another, which is why personalised advice is always key.
