Moving to Dubai? Do this first.
👇👇👇

GET A WATER FILTER! 🚿💧

If I could give one piece of advice to anyone moving to Dubai, it would be this: install a good water filter.

The water here is very hard and high in minerals like calcium. Many expats (myself included) notice that it leaves hair feeling dry, frizzy and more prone to breakage, and it can also make skin feel drier. Hair loss is also very common here.

Do your research before choosing a company. Ask for recommendations in your community WhatsApp groups and speak to other expats who have actually used the system.

Unfortunately, we got scammed. We’re now stuck with a filtration system that requires replacement cartridges every 3 months, making it much more expensive than we were originally promised.

A good system should come with a fair maintenance plan. For example, you may be able to find companies offering free cartridges for the first year, with replacements needed only every 6 months.

And no… that little Amazon shower filter alone isn’t enough. Trust me. 🥲

Welcome to Al Kabayel Prime where you can find anything you need under one roof 😃
Not only that! You’ll get great bargain too.
Cityland Mall branch is their newest and biggest yet, covering around 100,000 square feet so there is certainly a lot to see.
Did you visit yet? 🤩

Before moving from the UK to Dubai, I believed quite a few of these myths too. Some turned out to be completely false, while others were only partly true depending on your lifestyle.

Dubai isn’t perfect but it’s definitely more diverse and family friendly than many people imagine.

❓Which myth surprised you the most?

⬇️ Let me know in the comments.

1. botim This will be your WhatsApp replacement for video calls
2. Aura MENA | أورا Such a good app to collect points whenever you shop either in store or online
3. Fazaa4all فزعة This app is only for residents so Emirates ID is essential but once you sign up, there are so many discounts across the country! Always ask in the shops, hotels, restaurants if they accept Fazaa. Quite often they don’t ask for Fazaa and you might miss out on discounts.
4. Kitopi Great app for points and cash back. I use it whenever I dine in my favourite restaurants.
5. talabat UAE My all time favourite app for ordering food 😀🙈 I got pro version too. The most reliable in my opinion.
6. Kidzapp UAE If you have children, it’s worth to download it to enjoy some discounts for kids activities across UAE
