Pregnancy massage is a popular treatment and often my expectant clients ask how soon after birth can they can have a massage. My code of practice is 10-12 weeks after delivery with medical sign off. Other therapists may offer treatment sooner, but this timeline is fairly common. Massage in the first 12 months of baby’s arrival is so important for mothers as there are a multitude of benefits such as:

• Promoting better quality of sleep
• Relaxes muscle tension
• Improves posture imbalances
• Reduces stress
• Minimalise risk of strains & injuries
• Promotes recovery and healing

MLD: A picture is worth a thousand words

My lovely client booked in a full body manual lymphatic drainage session. How amazing are the results!!

She carries a lot of water retention around her stomach and was seeking treatment to reduce this. They have also previously had abdominal surgery, and MLD is an aid to recovery as it reduces swelling and helps prevent fibrosis (build up of scar tissue) along with many other benefits to long to list

Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) is becoming more demanding due to its many fantastic benefits. It’s most commonly known for treating Lymphedema. In addition, it’s a great therapy for speeding up the healing process for post cosmetic ops, detoxing the body (especially in the winter months) and provides relief from many chronic conditions.
