Here are 3 gentle stretches to try this Saturday morning:
1. Knee-to-chest stretch - Lie on your back, pull both knees gently toward your chest and hold for 30 seconds. Releases lower back tension.
2. Cat-cow stretch - On all fours, slowly arch your back upward then let it drop down. Repeat 8-10 times. Mobilises the whole spine.
3. Child's pose - Sit back on your heels, arms stretched forward on the floor, and breathe deeply for 30-60 seconds. A powerful release for the lower and mid back.
These take less than 5 minutes and are suitable for most people. If any stretch causes discomfort, stop and listen to your body.
