Police Probe South Wales Aesthetics Practitioner Over Alleged Sepsis And Fraud Claims 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

Police have launched an investigation into a male aesthetics practitioner based in Newport following allegations of botched cosmetic treatments, fraud, and the intimidation of clients. Neither the individual nor the business involved can be named at this stage for legal reasons while police inquiries remain ongoing.

A dossier of evidence compiled on behalf of multiple complainants has been passed to the authorities, detailing severe medical complications and alleged professional misconduct. Among the complaints is that of a client identified as Helena, who reportedly suffered cellulitis, sepsis, and permanent scarring following a cosmetic procedure.

Complainants allege that rather than recalling the client for immediate corrective treatment to dissolve the product, the practitioner offered her £1,000 not to pursue the matter, before allegedly making threats to her and other individuals. Furthermore, allegations have been raised that the practitioner operated without valid insurance and falsely represented himself as a Band 7 nurse, while reportedly holding the qualifications of a nursing assistant.

The wider portfolio of complaints submitted for investigation outlines several further allegations regarding clinical safety and regulation. Clients suffering severe post-treatment complications claim they were reassured their symptoms were normal and advised only to take antihistamines and apply aloe vera.

The practitioner is also accused of administering unlicensed products, including Botulax allegedly sourced through social media, and unlawfully supplying Retatrutide pens and cartridges that reportedly left buyers unwell. Additional evidence passed to investigators alleges that the individual trained others using a former trainer’s CPD accreditation number without authorisation.

Advocates collating the evidence are appealing for anyone else who has experienced complications, received concerning aftercare advice, or faced intimidation to come forward in confidence. Affected clients are urged to retain all relevant messages, photographs, receipts, product details, and medical records to assist the authorities with their investigation.

• 50-unit toxin vial: approximately £85
• 100-unit toxin vial: approximately £150
• Prescribing fee: approximately £25–£50
• 100 sterile needles: £5.28
• 100 syringes: £6.24
• Diluent: approximately £1–£2

That’s before insurance, clinical waste disposal, premises, training and the practitioner’s time.

Even using the lower figures, a 50-unit vial plus a £25 prescribing fee comes to £110 before a single needle is used!

Botulinum toxin is a PRESCRIPTION ONLY MEDICINE. Proper prescribing - PER PERSON, legitimate sourcing and professional clinical care all have costs!

So how exactly is £79 for THREE areas supposed to cover everything?

I’m genuinely gobsmacked that the same person is STILL advertising these prices. The numbers deserve some serious explaining.

😮‍💨 I wouldn’t want to be in his shoes when those reported legal disputes come to a head. The financial and professional consequences could make those bargain prices look like the least of his worries!
