Foiling Tip!
Avoid folding foils where possible especially on long hair. They will develop so much more evenly due to laying flat and doing their thang and you'll protect the hair far better. They're not going to generate anywhere near as much heat.
If they already have a blonde end but it needs cleaning up you can bleach it up and leave it out the foil!

Here's a few results following on from my last post!

I've been having a play about with new techniques guys.
This has NO toner... NO root melt on.
This was ALL virgin level 7 hair before this.
So yes that gives us a bonus boost. BUT that doesn't guarantee blend.
This technique I experimented with is something I am now kicking myself I never thought of before!!
The blend was INSANE! AND NOT ONLY THAT... It made life 10x easier!!
Next one I do I'll share with you guys 🖤

Bye bye box dye!
Here's one for Stylists and clients -
Here's the absolute truth about box dye and starting to break away from them.
It's going to go warm. 110%. Definite cert. Warm warm warm.
Warm doesn't = evil.
We can make warm work.
But here's why.
Box colours are cheap and designed to last like hell.
Why's that then..
Cheap means cheap to little science taking place.
The investment in the manufacturing process. The pigment, chemicals and molecules used.
It's packed with high amounts of PPD, ammonia, excess low quality pigments, henna, metallic salts.
It's a progressive dye. Everytime a client colours their hair and in most cases people cover everywhere everytime. The colour is locking onto itself and onto the keratin.
To remove this is hard hard work. And depending on how dark the box dye is, how many times they've coloured it, it's may never be lifted as light or be able to take it even when it has been lifted.
Another problem with home colouring is BANDS. Because most people aren't sure what colour to use and what level and chop and change, or do full heads, then roots, all these different brands and different strengths sit in the hair differently. Meaning each part will lift differently and may cause bands.
At colour correction stage with box dyes it's most definitely damage control for a few sittings and then we can begin to move towards a proper goal.
It will 100% be warm though. That's a given.
So the options are -
Embrace the warmth and stay brighter and more noticeable using colours like copper, reds or golds to ENHANCE and COMPLIMENT
Go darker and cooler -
Using darker ashy bases like violet, blues and green depending on if you've hit orange or red to NEUTRALISE

This was not an easy one!
Go ahead and have little swipe to the before.
This is a six hour colour correction. (thank the lord that apparently me and my new client were apparently separated at birth so there wasn't a minutes silence 🤣.. Not that there's much chance of that with me about.)
So she came to me with a very large level 5/6 grow out. This is usually when they're truly a blonde (always ask what colour they were when they were little This gives you a good idea of what the lift will be like) but the darkest you're going to get so appears more like a 5. The hair is very thick and dense and while you'll get good lift and not a ton of orange or red pigment. They're likely to have alot more yellow.
We had alot going on in the ends. Some pretty light peices and pretty warm.
We discussed options. We knew we wanted as light as possible. Scalp bleach was an option but for grow out maybe not the best due to her natural regrowth depth.
So we opted for heavy highlights. In this instance it meant we'd have to leave some of this ends for next time. We had to pack the foils in. Tip outs weren't an option due to time and not wanting to over process.
We have out second session booked which is where we'll lift the ends that need it and get back in at the root with some fine baby lights and face framing.
We used
foils
blonde me for lift
for protection
to pretone
illumina 6/+7/ root shadow
And 10.0/10.2 to tone.
We wanted a clean bright blonde.
Remember if they dont want warm they don't always mean ash!
