🎨✨ Creativity Has No Limits ✨🎨
We enjoyed another wonderful art session, where residents explored colour, shape, and self-expression through painting. There were no rules, no pressure, and no right or wrong way to create...just brushes, paint, imagination, and plenty of smiles.
These sessions are designed to be accessible and meaningful for people of all abilities, encouraging confidence, communication, creativity, and connection. It was amazing to see everyone engage in their own unique way, producing artwork that was as individual as they are.
The room was filled with concentration, laughter, conversation, and moments of pride as each masterpiece began to take shape. Every brushstroke told its own story.
A huge well done to everyone who took part today. The creativity on display was truly inspiring, and the joy shared around the table reminded us that art is about the experience just as much as the finished piece. 💜

Due to the extreme weather conditions we are going to be cancelling tomorrow’s drag performance activity. Our first priority is to keep the residents safe and comfortable in this heat. Thank you for your understanding

Astley view was busy again today , we had the beautiful weather so we made the most of it with a picnic party for some of our lovely dementia residents . A little independence goes along way so it was lovely when they were able to put together their own picnic on the lawn . They happily made their own sandwiches and dessert of strawberries with cream & Newyork cheesecake . A beautiful way to share a lovely afternoon together singing and enjoying the sunshine 🌞

⚽🎈 Football Fun with Rise! 🎈⚽
We had a fantastic visit from Louise at Rise this week, bringing plenty of energy, laughter, and friendly competition to our day!
Residents enjoyed a range of football-themed activities, including chair football games, balloon volleyball, and a fun quiz testing everyone's knowledge of World Cup football stars. 🏆
There was also some light-hearted rivalry as Liverpool and Everton supporters went head-to-head, while Manchester United and Manchester City fans proudly backed their teams! ❤️💙
It was wonderful to see everyone getting involved, sharing memories, cheering each other on, and enjoying a great afternoon together. Thank you, Louise, for making the session so enjoyable, we're already looking forward to the next one! 😊

Everyone had a wonderful afternoon enjoying the cocktails and mocktails, and the residents loved every minute of the Hawaiian-themed celebration. From the dancing to the sing-alongs, it was a fun-filled event that brought lots of smiles and laughter.
Well done, ladies, and thank you for all your hard work in making the afternoon such a great success! 🌴🌺🎶💃🕺

As part of Care Home Open Week, we were delighted to welcome the Mayoress of Chorley and her Consort to Astley View.
They thoroughly enjoyed looking around our fabulous, warm, and friendly home, meeting both our residents and dedicated team members. The Mayoress particularly enjoyed chatting with residents and observing one of our arts and crafts activities, taking time to learn more about life at Astley View.
The visit was followed by a delicious meal prepared by our talented kitchen team, which was greatly enjoyed by all.
A huge thank you to the Mayoress and her Consort for taking the time to visit and meet the wonderful people who live and work at Astley View. It was a pleasure to share our home and community with them, and we greatly appreciated their interest, support, and kindness throughout their visit.

Carers week

Throughout the day we held 'Mandy Motivator sessions for the seniors and carers which were full of laughter and smiles. As it's carers week, we wanted to do a fitness session for staff as a opportunity to have a little fun.
