With cost of living rising save some money having smaller portions of food by……
One of the primary reasons weight-loss efforts fail is because you're just so darned hungry. Sticking to small portion sizes of often unsatisfying foods leaves your stomach feeling empty and growling for more food. Your only option isn't a large pizza or entire loaf of French bread though. Keep yourself optimally hydrated all day long and make an effort to drink just before meals to trick your grumbling tummy into believing it's full.
Drinking water doesn't just trick you into feeling full, sometimes it's actually just what your body needs. Sometimes it's easy to confuse hunger and thirst, so you think you're hungry when you actually need fluids. Adequate water intake takes away these confusing cues so you're not prompted to eat when you really just need a tall glass of water.
When you're mildly dehydrated – just 1 or 2 percent – you can experience symptoms such as headache, poor concentration, fatigue and lightheadedness. You might mistake these signals for low blood sugar and the need for fuel, when you're actually just low on fluids. There is a significant association between inadequate hydration and being overweight or obese, according to a study published in the Annals of Family Medicine in 2016.
You feel full when your stomach stretches. Drinking 16 ounces of water about 15 to 30 minutes before you sit down to a meal creates this expansion and tricks your hunger sensors into thinking you're full. A study published in a 2013 issue of Australian Family Physician recommended this step as an adjunct to a low-calorie diet as an easy, risk-free way to increase weight loss. Make sure you choose water, however. Calorie-rich drinks such as juice, milk or soda only add calories and undermine weight loss.

Did you know that you can turn anything into smoothie? Pick what benefits you want from each ingredient and experiment to find your favourite combination. Of course check that you are getting the correct nutrition for you and always consult a medical professional before any diet or nutritional changes. some ingredients are worth cooking first… you can lose some nutrients by heating certain foods but, having the flavour you prefer and being able to enjoy it outweighs giving up and eating something else less nutritious for the sake of the flavour.

Vitamin B12 is an essential vitamin; the body cannot create it alone and therefore without a regular supply of B12 it is not possible to maintain good health in the long term. Biologically-speaking, vitamin B12 is vital – yet what are the main effects that it has on the body?
The 5 Functions of Vitamin B12
The workings of B12 can be divided into 5 key areas:
Synthesis of DNA – the vitamin influences cell division and blood formation
Energy metabolism – B12 is vital for energy production in the mitochondria
Lipid metabolism – vitamin B12 is important for the building and maintenance of the cell membrane and myelin sheaths, a protector of the nerves in the central nervous system and brain
Synthesis of hormones and neurotransmitters – the vitamin is needed to produce crucial neurotransmitters and therefore influences mood, psyche and perceptions
Detoxification – homocysteine and cyanide are neutralised by B12, as well as radicals such as nitric oxide and peroxynitrite. The vitamin is an important opponent to nitrosative stress
Vitamin B12 is a fundamental, biological building block, essential to these important metabolic processes. Without the vitamin these vital functions cannot be maintained, having detrimental repercussions on the body.
