To avoid dry brittle nails apply moisturiser daily or even better cuticle oil and try to stay hydrated. Avoid harsh chemicals and excessive water exposure by wearing gloves when doing housework and keep nails trimmed. Also if applying your own polish don't forget to use base coat and top coat to help it last.
