As this year closes, I want to leave you with a quiet wish.
That in the year ahead, you learn to be gentler with yourself.
That you stop rushing your becoming.
That you honour the unseen work, the healing, the unlearning, the choosing again, even when no one applauds it.
I hope you find the courage to keep going when the path feels unclear.
To trust what is growing slowly.
To believe that your effort counts, even on the days it feels small.
May you enter the new year with less pressure to prove,
and more permission to arrive as you are.
With room for softness.
With faith in your own timing.
If this year asked a lot of you, I hope the next one meets you with grace.
And if you’re still figuring it out, know that you are not behind.
You are becoming.
Thank you for being here, for reading, for witnessing, for walking this season with me.
I’m wishing you a year that feels honest, expansive, and deeply your own.
HAPPY NEW YEAR! ♥️
With love,
Zuh

As the year comes to an end, it calls for honest reflection.
Here are 31 lessons I’ve gathered slowly, through living, unlearning, becoming and through moments of grit.
They are Not conclusions, Nor instructions.
Just truths shaped by time, grace, and showing up again and again.
For anyone figuring it out, one step at a time. This is for you.
Save this later or share with someone who needs it.

Writing didn’t begin on the page for me.
It began in fragments, in thoughts that wouldn’t settle, ideas that kept returning, asking to be noticed.
What this year has taught me is:
writing teaches patience before it teaches clarity.
It introduces fear before it offers confidence.
And it asks you to begin long before you feel ready.
The fear doesn’t disappear.
It changes shape.
It becomes something you learn to walk alongside.
Not every idea becomes a finished piece.
Not every vision finds its final form.
Regardless of all of that, the act of writing still changes you.
There is pride in building your work slowly.
There is courage in staying with the work.
There is grace in creating, even before you arrive.
A fuller reflection is now on Substack 🤍

This year taught one truth louder than anything else:
Grit isn’t loud.
It doesn’t perform.
It doesn’t wait for applause.
Grit is the quiet courage to rise unseen,
and keep becoming anyway.
If you’re in that season,
this one’s for you. ♥️

Your voice is the one thing the world cannot rewrite.
This carousel is a reminder that, your truth, your art, your identity are yours to claim.
No noise, no timeline, no comparison can take that from you.
If this resonates, save it for the days you need reminding.

Some books don’t just tell a story,
they spark something in you.
If you’ve come across Maya Angelou’s books, words and speeches, you’d come to understand that,
her voice is not gentle because she lacked pain,
it is gentle because she survived it.
Her words carry the kind of courage that moves quietly
but changes everything it touches.
Here are a few lines from one of her books I cherish:
“ I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings”
that remind us of this truth:
That voice is rebellion.
That resilience is power.
That rising can be soft and still be unstoppable.
That freedom begins within long before the world recognises it.
For every woman reclaiming her story,
her strength,
her fire,
may these words meet you like truth and liberation.
Tell me which line spoke to you today?

Keep showing up. Not for the algorithm, or applause,
but for the version of you who once dreamed of doing this.

Dear November, 🌻
You arrived quietly,
with a calm that feels like an exhale.
There has always been something sacred about you.
Something in your energy that calls us home to ourselves.
Each year, as you approach,
you bring with you the things that have settled
like waves returning to the shore.
And there I am again,
gathering the priceless pieces,
running off with them in the rain.
This season, I want to honour that.
To bloom quietly where I am planted.
To love the woman I’m still becoming,
and the art that keeps unfolding through her.
Here’s to grace in motion.
To grounded joy.
To the still but certain becoming
that lives in every day I choose to stay present.
Here’s to November
the month that feels like a soft reminder:
I am already home.
With quiet gratitude,
Zuh x

Every moment is a stroke on the canvas of your becoming.
Live like the artist of your own life,
with intention, with grace, and with room to evolve.
If your life were a piece of art, what season would it be in right now?

Somewhere along the way, we convinced ourselves that living slow meant doing less.
But soulful living isn’t about less, it’s about depth.
It’s the quiet choice to breathe before you perform,
to create before you scroll,
to rest before you reach for the next thing.
I started practicing this in the middle of chaos
when motherhood, work, and life all blurred together.
And I realised:
peace isn’t found in perfect systems.
It’s found in rhythm, in the gentle, daily habits that teach your nervous system safety again.
Here’s to a slower, deeper way of being. 🌿
