VOLUME

I don’t really do volume much. Classics are you know are my ❤️. I also do a load of YYs these days.

If you don’t know YY lashes, message me & I’ll tell you more.

I don’t offer hybrids. Cause I think they rarely look good; instead YYs are my hybrid offering.

What’s your most popular lash? 🤍

EMPLOYED vs. SELF-EMPLOYED

Happy working alone?
Go SELF-EMPLOYED

Happy to be thinking about work every hour you’re awake?
Go SELF-EMPLOYED

Are you good at maths & accounting?
Go SELF-EMPLOYED

Are you good at sales & marketing?
Go SELF-EMPLOYED

Do you have money / savings behind you?
Go SELF-EMPLOYED

Happy to spend money on…
rent, electricity, water, business rates, telephone, broadband, booking software, credit card fees, app fees, music streaming, music license, insurance, website, advertising, printing, marketing, furniture & endless stock.
Go SELF-EMPLOYED

Happy to…
learn Canva, social media, marketing, tax & self-assessments, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, build a website, send emails, message clients continuously, send client confirmations, send client reminders, manage booking software, not earn while you’re on your 2 week summer holiday, worry your clients will find a new lash tech cause you’re on a 2 week holiday, not have time for a wee or a lunch break cause every minute is money you need.
Go SELF-EMPLOYED

Want a reliable monthly income?
Go EMPLOYED

Want to forget about work when you leave?
Go EMPLOYED

Hate social media?
Go EMPLOYED

Want to get paid £2,200+ for being on holiday?

Want to up your skills by attending training courses that you don’t have to pay for?
Go EMPLOYED

Want better tips?
Go EMPLOYED

Weigh up everything before you make the decision to go employed or self-employed & remember there’s no right answer, it’s what’s right for YOU 🤍

CLASSIC LASH EXTENSIONS

I do a fair few YY sets these days but Classic Lashes have my heart. Classics are what I win all my awards for. Classics are my true love.

Not that many lash artists enjoy classic lashing. Classics are hard because every flaw is visible. Classics takes so much skill. But boy are they rewarding 🤍

If you need to upskill & want to book a few hours mentoring with me to improve your styling, direction, retention or just want to tap me for all my tips & tricks then send me a DM.

Mentoring is 121 and can be for anything from 2 - 6 hours depending on your needs. It’s a brilliant way to
up your lash game 🤍

IN OTHER NEWS 💔

Sadly my lovely Dad died suddenly a few weeks ago & today is his funeral. And my heart is broken 💔

I am sorry I haven’t told you all; I try to keep my private life private & not let it interfere with my work. Also when I tell people I cry so there’s some self preservation there too.

But to the few that I have told, thank you for your kindness. And thank you to my amazing team of Foundry Girls who have been so kind & understanding & held the salon up whilst I’ve not been firing on all cylinders.

And to my Daddy.
Grief is the price I pay for love.

HAPPY 1st BIRTHDAY TO THE FOUNDRY!

This is what I work so damned hard for. My own salon in my local High Street.

I’ve always always loved my job. But getting in the car on a morning driving to The Foundry; to work with a team I chose, who’s talent & personalities are a ray of sunshine; in a beautiful salon interior with the most lovely clients walking through the doors day in & day out. This, I love.

It’s bloody hard work being a salon owner. Particularly when you’re still working in the salon yourself. There are hours & hours of admin behind the scenes & not always a wage packet at the end of the month.

But; I absolutely love every last second of it. And I am so thankful. To the friends who support me, the fellow salon owners who share their wisdom, the coach who guides & celebrates me, the industry friends who understand the highs & the lows, the angel who’s always there for me to discuss ideas with, The Foundry Girls who said yes to being part of my team, the loyal clients who’ve been with me since day one, the new clients who put their trust in us, the professionals who made my vision a reality, thank you, to everyone.

Feeling very grateful 🤍

And ready for our second year in business! 💪

CREATING DENSITY

Sometimes you will need to create density in your set. This might be for a client with fine or sparse lashes. Density will give the illusion that the client has a fuller lashline.

You can add density by:

🖤 Using short C curl lashes on the upper layer - 9mm is perfect, regardless of the client’s lash map.

🖤 Using short lashes on the bottom layer can give a dark eyeliner effect, use 7-8mm lengths, regardless of the client’s lash map

🖤 If you’re classic lashing, apply flat lashes to the bottom layer.

🖤 If you’re volume lashing, use narrow fans on the lower layer.

LIFE IS TOUGH

but YOU are tougher.

The world is still throwing us a right royal curveball. And we’re still recovering from the Covid Bomb they dropped on us 💣

But remember. You are made of strong stuff. You got through the hell that was Covid. You can get through this. Whether it’s your electricity bill that’s giving you sleepless nights; the rising costs of stock, the worry about clients being able to afford to have treatments or the dreaded VAT man; you’ve got this. You’re strong. You’re tough. You’re a bloody superwoman (you just may not quite realise it!)

You CAN do this. Everything WILL be okay. Stay strong. Stay happy. Smile through it & you will see the rainbow through the current clouds. I promise 🤍

THIS IS LIDSPACE!

See how I’ve chosen a strong curl - my all time favourite curl is a CC, and opted for a longer length to cover some of the visible eyelid for this client.
Imagine how different the eye would look if I wasn’t skilled in styling & picked a C curl.

Lash styling is a passion of mine & I plan to run styling workshops at various locations around the country during the next 12 months. All attendees will also receive a free copy of my Styling manual.

If you’re interested in attending a Styling Workshop let me know your location & I can make sure I add it to my list.

🤍

WHAT IS LIDSPACE?

Lidspace is the area of the eyelid that you can see. When considering lidspace; think about how much eyeshadow you would see if your client was to wear it. If you couldn’t see much, she doesn’t have much visible lidspace. If you could see lots of eyeshadow, she has visible lidspace.

Round & Deepset eyes often have lots of visible lidspace.

Ideally you want to cover lidspace with your lash extensions.

🖤 choose a strong curl like a CC or a D curl

🖤 use additional length as you’ll need it to cover the lidspace

🖤 direct lashes upwards or up and out like rays of sunshine
