TELL THE OTHERS
Once I felt frustrated with my anxiety. Disgusted with my weakness, I attempted to control it.
Once I felt ashamed in my isolation and loneliness. Believing I was the only one who felt this way—not like the others, I attempted to fit in.
Once I disconnected from my anger, stuffing it deep inside. Believing it to be a failing, I attempted to be reasonable and nice.
Once I thought that my urge for freedom from others meant I lacked something important. Bulldozing myself to attend places my soul didn’t want to be, I attempted to be more social.
Once I was embarrassed by my big dreams. Not wanting to seem conceited, too much, or triggering to others, I attempted to stay small.
Once I pretended to be ok, carefully curating my perception with masks. Fearful others might see how broken I felt at times, I attempted to prove I had it all together.
Eventually, overwhelmed from twisting into acceptable versions of myself for others’ comfort, and tired from serving everyone else first, I gave up.
I let go of who I thought I should be, and embraced who I am.
More out of exhaustion than any grand plan, but I was being divinely guided back to myself.
I learned how to surrender, and then to keep surrendering daily, until I slowly settled into self-acceptance.
I started to hold loving space for my anxiety and comfort myself through times of sadness, as I would a friend.
I allowed my nervous system to heal.
I chose to speak up consciously during times of justified anger, and was surprised when the world kept turning.
Owning my unique vibe, I proudly claimed my alone time, and it became my gateway to joy.
Through being messy, vulnerable and transparent, I found the community connection I was seeking.
As each layer healed I gained clarity about who I actually am, which had always been pretty great.
With each intentional and joyful moment of solitude, I was able to hear my Divine guidance with more clarity. I gained the strength and courage to not only voice but to chase my big dreams.
As I surrendered into self-acceptance, to my surprise something else magical slowly began to happen.
Something I had heard about but never fully understood, or believed I would experience personally.
Self love.
I love myself.
I am great.
I am weird and messy and beautiful.
I love all my equally messy and unique sisters —with all my heart, wherever they are on their healing journeys.
I encourage you all to throw away your masks, and wounded thoughts of comparison, and join me in the sacred feminine act of surrender.
Learning to bask in all that is wonderful about yourself, is an important first step in anything you are being called to create.
Because we need you. We need every one of us healed, whole and in the fight.
Yes, you are that important, beautiful soul.
Please, take up all your space, shine brightly and tell the others.
