This weekend marks 2 years since I opened the doors, and I just want to say a massive thank you to every single one of you who’s supported the journey so far.

From day one customers to all the new faces along the way — you’ve helped build something I’m truly proud of.

I’ll be in the shop as usual (fully booked as always 🙌), but I’ve got some Italian sweet treats and drinks in — so if you’re passing by, feel free to pop in, grab a snack, have a drink, and say hello! 🇮🇹🍪🥤

This is just the beginning… there’s so much more to come.

💈 Who Cuts the Barber? 💈

I get asked a lot whether I cut my own hair… and the answer is no chance 😅

Today I was back in the chair at Oakleys Barbers with my good friend Emmie-jayne. Supporting each other in this industry is important. There’s enough room for everyone to do well, and we should always lift each other up.

Emmie has been part of my barber journey for years, sharing advice, encouragement, and always backing what I’m building at Monopoli’s. And on top of that, she’s family (my fiancée’s cousin’s daughter), which makes it even more special.

Barbering isn’t just about haircuts, it’s about community, support, and relationships. Proud to support other local barbers and proud to have good people around me.

💙 Supporting an Incredible Challenge 💙

I want to show some love and support for my long-time friend Joshua Corradi-Remi , who is taking on an amazing challenge in 2026.

From 1st January 2026, Josh will be running at least 5km every single day for the entire year, rain, snow, good days and hard days, to raise money for Barnardo’s, a charity that supports some of the UK’s most vulnerable children.

This challenge is deeply personal. 2026 is the year Josh and his wife will officially adopt their daughter, and their journey has opened their eyes to the realities of the care system. This run is about giving back, raising awareness, and helping more children find the safety, stability, and love every child deserves.

Josh will be sharing updates every day to stay accountable and to take everyone along on the journey. Whether you’re able to donate or simply share the page, every bit of support really does make a difference.

The snow may be falling, but Monopoli’s Barbershop is OPEN as usual today and the coffee machine is flowing ✂️
That said, your safety always comes first please take your time, travel carefully, and don’t take any risks getting here. If you’re running late or need to rearrange, just drop me a message and we’ll sort it.

Just a heads-up to all customers — there will be road closures on my street for the next 6 weeks due to council works.

…AND both 2nd & 3rd January are already fully booked 😳

I do have a waiting list, but even that’s starting to fill faster than my snack cupboard in December.

The countdown to the big day has officially begun — and the bookings are rolling in faster than Santa’s sleigh on espresso. 🎅☕️

Here’s the lowdown before the tinsel takes over:

Only a few slots left from 3:30pm onwards

🎁 Fridays are nearly full
Just a handful of daytime spaces remaining

❌ All Saturdays are fully booked
Next available Saturday is 10th January 2026

🎄 The final week before Christmas is FULLY BOOKED
So unless there are cancellations, there won’t be any last-minute festive fresheners!

📅 Christmas Hours:
We’ll be closing Wednesday 24th December at midday
Reopening Friday 2nd January 2026 — and that Friday is already half booked 😅

💚 In Loving Memory of Ian Greenhalgh 💚

Today we received the heartbreaking news that Ian Greenhalgh has passed away after fighting cancer with unbelievable strength and dignity.

Back in July, we held Brave the Shave in his honour — a day filled with support, community, and love for a man who inspired so many of us. Ian was not only a part of that day, but a huge supporter of Monopoli’s Barbershop from the start.

Ian had a true love for the barber experience — the chats, the laughs, the atmosphere — and he brought something special to the shop every time he walked through the door.

Before he passed, Ian left me a gift that I will carry forward with pride. When the time feels right, I’ll be sharing a dedication inside the shop to honour him properly — a tribute to one of the toughest, kindest, and most genuine men I’ve ever met.

My deepest love and condolences go out to Tracy Greenhalgh, Abi Greenhalgh, Michael Leinker, Trevor Greenhalgh , and the rest of Ian’s family. Ian, you’ll always be a part of Monopoli’s. 💚✂️

Rest easy, mate.
