When we learn together, we lift each other.
One of my favourite parts of teaching isn’t just sharing a new technique, it’s watching people grow in confidence together.
Learning in a small group creates a relaxed and supportive environment where everyone has the opportunity to ask questions, practise, make mistakes and celebrate those little breakthrough moments.
The feedback and encouragement from fellow students is often just as valuable as the teaching itself.
You quickly realise you’re not alone, and that’s where confidence really starts to grow.
I keep my workshops small because it means everyone receives plenty of one-to-one guidance, individual feedback and time to develop at their own pace.
If you’ve been thinking about learning EMMETT Technique, I’d love to welcome you to one of my workshops.
Have you ever been on a course where the people you learnt alongside became just as important as the course itself?

✨ One of the things I love most about EMMETT Technique is that it challenges a common belief—that deeper pressure produces better results.
🕺In reality, gentle, precise intent applications can often help the body relax, release tension and move more freely.
😊It's a reminder that effective therapy isn't always about working harder. Sometimes it's about understanding the body, listening to what it's telling us and using the right approach at the right time.
Have you ever experienced a treatment where a gentle touch made a surprising difference?

😮💨 As a newly qualified therapist, It is always daunting starting up.
I remember really sticking strictly to the routine I had learnt at first. But I soon realised that by listening to the client, letting them get to know me and I them before getting on the couch allowed them to feel more comfortable and relaxed and in return made me feel more confident in my work and adjusting it accordingly.
Passion, knowledge and intention gets you a long way in the therapy industry and reaching a stage of feeling confident to change your routine to make it unique to the individual client to, for example, just work in one area which is where the tension and restriction sits.
By listening to the client and their body, they will remember you as that person who made them feel relaxed and they will come away feeling just great both physically and mentally.
Have you had the same experience of that eureka moment of thinking “I’ve got this, I am unique and I am making a great difference for this client” ?

Can we just take a moment to appreciate the design of my new business postcards designed by my clever daughter Jess
Jess has just finished 3rd year of her Graphic Design degree from Edinburgh College of Art and I can honestly say she makes me so proud and I love following her journey and see her grow as a person and professionally over time.
As a young student trying to build a portfolio, these jobs are so important to Jess, so if you have a design or branding job which needs a helping hand, please do ping her a message.
Ps The card stand was beautifully created by my husband who always seems to have that piece of wood and the bit of metal to hand (you never know when you might need it 💪)
Happy Weekend to you all 😎

⭐️ As therapists, we often explain to clients why regular massage matters.
🚙 Most people wouldn’t wait for their car to break down before booking a service, yet they often wait until they’re in pain before seeking treatment.
🔧 The same principle applies to us as practitioners. If we want to achieve better results, build confidence and offer the best possible care, we need to invest in our own professional development.
⭐️ Every new skill, technique and treatment approach becomes another tool in your therapist toolbox.
🧑🎓 Whether you’re newly qualified or have years of experience, continued learning helps you support your clients more effectively and keeps your passion for therapy alive.

✨ Next EMMETT Workshop Somerset ✨ The first time I used EMMETT Technique, it blew my mind and it continues to do so every time I use it on my clients.
This gentle but powerful technique can make a remarkable difference in a very short time.
⭐️ Amazing addition to your current therapies
The EMMETT Technique uses light finger pressure on specific points to help the body release tension, ease pain and return to balance.
This workshop is suitable for both professionals and non-professionals. Whether you are a therapist, golfer, sports enthusiast, personal trainer, yoga or Pilates instructor, or simply someone who would like to help family and friends feel more comfortable in their bodies, you will learn practical techniques you can start using straight away.
The day is hands on, taught in a small group, and designed to give you confidence in using several simple Emmett moves that support mobility and ease tension.
📅 Sunday 26th July 2026
🕘 9am to 5pm
📍 Crewkerne, Somerset
During the day you will learn a series of techniques that can help release common areas of tension such as the neck, shoulders and back, and that can also be used to prepare the body for deeper work if needed.

🔎 What do we do when a client wants treatment but doesn’t want massage or can’t get on the couch?
I recently worked with a client nervous about massage. He told me he’d never had a massage and was unsure if it was for him, but he’d had ongoing neck ache and his wife had finally insisted he did something about it.
He was relived to hear me tell him that he didn’t have to have a massage for me to treat him.
Instead I used EMMETT Technique
- It’s light touch and gentle
- It can be used on clients clothed
- No need to get on the couch
RESULT - My client left with less pain, better balance, and feeling much more confident to come back for his next treatment
Emmett uses light touch to release muscle tension quickly. You can use it on its own or weave it into a massage or other treatment.
If you’re a therapist who wants to offer gentle yet powerful results, especially for clients unsure about traditional massage, Emmett is a game-changer.

🎼Music or silence in our treatment spaces... ??
Most therapists use gentle sound during their treatments and it can truly be what brings our clients to the next stage of relaxation. But what should we think about when choosing sound? and does your client even want music during their treatment?
I have written a blog talking about the effects of music, asmr and the beauty of silence during a massage or therapy session.
Plus the all important question...What is the best speaker for your treatment room.
