If you’ve been looking to clean up your lifestyle, a simple way to help maintain good personal health is through your hair care products.

CHANGE isn’t all or nothing - and it isn’t a sprint. It’s a marathon and it is not a competition. It is about doing a little bit better where you can; as it makes sense for you, your family, and your budget.

Year after year, hair care companies continue to put chemicals and toxic ingredients in their products; the words “parabens” and “formaldehyde” might ring a bell… but phthalates and parabens are classes of chemicals with oestrogenic properties that are used in packaging and hair care products.

Knowing what to look for and avoid is key. The third slide >>> lists the major ingredients to avoid. Above are a selection of cleaner choices. Companies like Faith In Nature are now greenwashed and add aluminium and seed oils to their products. Products claiming they are natural and organic are not always natural!!

Yuka is an app to show cleaner products but it still rates products good with harmful ingredients in them. Double check!!

Our body in the future depends on the habits and lifestyle choices we create today.

Healing is non-linear. There is no time frame. Your body still heals itself when you do not provide it the right care it deserves. Imagine what it would be like if we did support it?? It lets you know it’s struggling. It tells you by showing you symptoms. LISTEN to your body. NOURISH your body. LOVE your body and take CARE of your body.

This means dealing with unresolved trauma, toxins in our environment and gut health. If you keep ignoring these triggers it will show up in your body as INFLAMMATION, METABOLIC ISSUES and SENSITIVITIES to name just a few symptoms.

Create a healthy balance in life and eliminate toxins gradually. Swapping out one product for a cleaner product will support your lymphatic (yes the forgotten!!) system.

In my next post I have put cleaner swaps for hair care and what chemicals to avoid. I thought the shampoo I used was clean..nope it wasn’t !! It contained potassium sorbate and sodium benzoate amongst other ingredients, yet it is PORTRAYED as being a ‘healthy’ company for hair care and skin care. Education is key.
