✨ Meet the team ✨
Ayesha joined us recently as shop manager and what a dream she has been. Ayesha previously worked as an interior and shop floor designer at Liberty so we know we’re in good hands.
Fun facts - her favourite film is Withnail & I, she loves Maximo Park, in her spare time she loves going to the gym and having fun with her daughter Isadora & dog Rocky. And of course husband Rich!
Photo credit for first two pics to the brilliant who showcases her renovation of her fabulous chapel home along with a side helping of dogs & fashion

I’ve saved myself from reading most of the comments from the lovely Northern Echo readers 😳 but to answer a couple of comments for our customers…
We used Elders Glass a long standing family company whose pricing we trust their I think people may just under estimate the cost of glass and fitting. (It’s was £1400 to replace and fit and nearly £200 for boarding up in middle of the night - I’ve kept the boards for if it happens again!)
The insurance doesn’t cover it. And even if it did it doesn’t mean you can go round smashing windows surely? It would also put everyone’s premiums up in our post code area.
They were adults over 18 years old.
I’m still waiting for the Police to furnish me with details to seek a civil case…
My main point was that they had the people responsible in front of them and have just let them get away with it.
And no, our prices won’t be going up as a result if this 😂
😢
A devastated independent shop owner in Darlington said she was “close to tears” after the front window of her shop was smashed to pieces, yet…

Shes back! Our beautiful window restored to her former glory 🥰

Update to our smashed window…hopefully Elders Glass will be out early next week to replace it so Ayesha can work her magic on a lovely window display 👏
The Police aren’t willing to class it as a crime. They attended at the time, spoke with the people responsible for the damage, who were drunk and fighting amongst themselves.
The paramedics who attended told us that whilst treating the man for minor injuries he told them his friend pushed him into the window.
But the police say it was just an accident. The person or persons who caused the damage can’t be held responsible in anyway. An incident wasn’t even created let alone a crime number produced.
Windows are smashed in the town centre all the time, often it’s just found the next morning, often we never know who is responsible. On this occasion we know who’s responsible but we can’t do anything about it.
The police say no investigation will take place. There is some CCTV from a neighbouring business that shows a group of 4 people arguing with each other, pushing each other and showing the push into the window. Into our gluggle jugs and lovely prints and lovely bits and bobs designed and made with care and love by the lovely producers we buy from. It’s not clear enough to identify them but we don’t need to as the Police know who they are and spoke to them.
So as a small business we are paying out £1600 to board and then replace the glazing with no recompense from those responsible, no contribution, no apology. Not even a ticket for drunk & disorderly.
We move as they say. We’re open Saturday 10/4pm and Bank Holiday Monday 11/3. Come say hi, cheer us up and support us as you always do.
Some pics to show you some of the wonderful things we have in stock 🛍️

You’ll have to excuse our appearance until we get sorted, but last night we got the dreaded call that our window had been smashed. By drunken idiots. Who by all accounts have injured themselves.
10/10 for the Darlington Borough Council call out team who turned up super quick to help with the clean up.
10/10 for Eston Glass & Glazing - Est 1978 who came out promptly to board.
10/10 to the ambulance crew for coming over to speak to us to tell us what happened.
The Police? Well we’re still waiting…
Back open 10am Tuesday but it might be a bit dark 💡
