This week has felt really quite overwhelming, with minor health issues to deal with, a leaking washing machine that's wrecked a portion of the kitchen floor and some interpersonal challenges to boot, Saturday morning came and I just didn't want to do adult life at all.

But someone very wise said to me "just take the next step". And so I ate breakfast.

"Okay what's the next step now?" So I got in the shower.

Sometimes we need to put everything down and just take the next step.

The next step for me is joining an online mindfulness meditation practice group to restart my formal practice. It's been slipping for a long time and I don't feel anywhere near as centred.

So for anyone else who's had a hard week, just take the next step, and it's never too late to revive good habits.

Proms in the Park today was a real mood lifter, even if Daniel thought the music was 'old and boring' 🀣

This is a post for the therapists that never feel like they have enough time for their clients, they're so busy they've fallen into the conveyor belt trap, and whilst your clients are happy, you know you could be giving them more...

This is also for the therapists who've wanted to work with me for a while, but weren't quite able to make the financial investment for 1:1 mentoring...

The Whole Person Healing method starts with the very basics and I truly believe that the consultation is a golden window into your client's life, and therefore their needs. come back, how often and how reliable they're likely to
be (yes, before you've even performed the treatment)

It's another scorcher in the studio today! β˜€οΈ

I just wanted to take the opportunity to say thank you to my very patient clients for their understanding πŸ™

The studio being in a conservatory isn't ideal in heatwaves, and whilst morning appointments are still very much going ahead in the cooler part of the day, afternoon appointments are admittedly taking a hit.

At the moment I'm managing to find alternative appointments for everyone affected within 2 weeks and will continue to do my best to minimise disruption, but my absolute priority is keeping you safe and comfortable, so I am very grateful for your understanding.

Life has been so so busy lately.

Between planning Zumba comeback, working 5 days, continuing the garden makeover and the general day-to-day playtime, bath time and bedtime routines, laundry, cooking etc. I might have left my self care behind a little bit.

Just a reminder that you're not the only one that lets life get in the way of taking care of yourself sometimes.

I tend to find these things come and go in ebbs and flows, but as long as I find my way back to carving out time for myself again, there's nothing major lost.

The tell-tale signs that I need to get back to prioritising myself are usually poor sleep quality (nervous system not quite at rest), a compulsion to keep busy even when I get the opportunity to rest, and my allergies getting worse (no really, your natural stress response has an impact on your immune system).

Whatever your tell-tale signs are and however long you've left it, it's never too late to get back into good habits. I went for my monthly massage this morning and it was just the reminder I needed.

Back in the studio this morning with a beautiful variety of nurturing going on:

✨ Surgical aftercare - lympathic drainage for the face that was so relaxing my client fell asleep

✨ Deep tissue massage followed by Indian head massage for my second client who is receiving support with low level anxiety and lack of motivation

And that's just the first half of the day.

A big theme in life at the moment seems to be that with the rise in the cost of living, everyone is working even harder just to maintain the same standard of living. On a physical level that's tiring, but there's an additional mental toll that's a little more hidden and insidious. The quiet but steady weight of responsibility of providing for your family that while necessary, drains your energy resources.

The answer in my opinion?

way you take care of everyone around you
