Using diathermy, we are introducing the virus to the bloodstream in order for all of your immune system to do what it does best, fighting off viruses, such as the one that causes verrucas- The HPV virus.

There are many sub types of verrucas, 4 of which that are believed to be responsible for wart and verruca viruses.

This method we use is so fantastic as it’s not just superficially treating like over the counter treatments. There are many occasions I’ve successfully treated there of which chiropodists and podiatrists have struggled.

Generally, 1 or 2 sessions are all that is required however we are partly relying on your body to help fight the cause of the verruca/wart so this can vary if your immune system isn’t tip top condition!

We do have to wait for the body to fight the virus which means this isn’t a quick, overnight treatment, sometimes we need to wait months to see the improvement, but it comes!

What can you buy for £170 in todays climate?

2 tanks of fuel or one month gas/electric bill if we’re lucky 🤣

Yes is may sound alot for removal of one or 2 little skin tags, milia or anything else that bothers you. But when you put it into perspective, £170 for a lifetime of confidence is priceless.

I have to say that is a very rough average gauge to treatment cost, cost does vary depending on how many you have but £170 is the average!

Areas of friction ✨

Skin tags are most common in areas of friction, so underarms, groin, bra lines, collar area and even eyes.

Once I chat to people about daily activities it’s usually apparent how the skin tags appear. They are common in both women and men.

Most people don’t gain new skin tags for years, so yes the average treatment is £140-£200…. However once they’re gone, they’re gone!

There are things we can do to help prevent skin tags or at least the speed in which they grow, like adjusting clothing, lanyards. However some people are just prone to them for various reasons.

A common red flag I hear most days ⬇️

“I have this dry, red patch of skin that won’t heal”

Automatically my ears prick up and I know exactly what questions and conversations will follow from that comment.

- Has your GP seen this?

- How long have you had it for?

- I would recommended you to get this checked further by your GP

Usually my clients are confused as to why I even suggest to go to the Dr for a dry patch of skin and why I won’t treat this problem.

ANYTHING that doesn’t heal after a few weeks should be seen by a GP, there may be many things it could be, but a common thing I see is Actinic Keratosis.

Actinic Keratosis is a dry, red, scaly patch of skin usually in sun exposed areas, which can possibly turn into a SCC (Squamous Cell Carcinoma) which is a serious type of skin cancer however AK can be treated easily when caught early.

Not all AK will turn cancerous however it is important to treat while it is still innocent.

During her consultation, I noticed on this lovely lady signs of AK, and with a further look under my dermatoscope and dermoscopy training with I sign posted her to her GP and is now undergoing treatment to help, she is extremely grateful I noticed it and so am I!

The accuracy of diathermy 💫

This blemish removal demonstrates the incredible accuracy of the precise, minimally damaging effect of equipment/probes I use combined with my attention to detail and particular ways, the great results that can be achieved on even the most delicate of areas.

Not forgetting my clients brilliant following of aftercare! 👏

It is very possible for the lip line to be affected by electrocautery but with a gentle and precise approach it is possible for results like this.

P.S can you see the little indent/whitening on the lip line? Look again if you think that’s a scar as you’ll see that was there previous- a great reason why I take before and afters as it’s so easy to not notice/remember what the skin was like prior.

I use the Sterex single piece needle- F5 for more precise treatments like this one which means minimal damage to surrounding areas (with the correct technique!) and as always I use the Sterex SX-T.

To say I’ve been busy this year is an understatement.

I do not regret a single thing and it all had to be done… but it was hard!
I do plan on looking after me a little more next year. I’ve achieved everything I wanted and more and as much as I don’t intend to slack off, I will ensure I take a day off next year for once 🫣🤣

Next year is all about strengthening the foundations I built in 2025.

How I treat blemishes ⬇️

How I treat does vary on many factors such as medication, the blemishes I’m treating, location and other factors.

However the principle of my treatment is using electrocautery (also called short wave diathermy, electrosurgery, advanced electrolysis) which cauterises and coagulated the targeted area.

Sounds scary and painful right?

Nope! Most of my clients are chatting away with me during and usually say it’s much more pleasant than expected, it’s quick and most importantly absolutely worth it at the end.

So please don’t be afraid of going forward with the procedure, I am there every step of the way, from fully informing you on what to expect all the way through to the aftercare.

I had this lovely, lovely lady attend with these three lovely mix of blemishes in one area making her quite self conscious when showing the neck.

Safe to say she was absolutely thrilled with the result 💫

Blemish on the far left is a filiform wart, these have crystal like projections, they are rough, scaly and contagious.

The raised, white blemish is a epimoid cyst, a blind ended duct that has an accumulation of build up on the inside.

The far right is a seborrheic keratosis which are hereditary and we get more so with age.
