We have been truly overwhelmed by the expressions of sympathy we have received and for the many personal kindnesses shown to us as a family over the last ten days.
Maureen was very proud to be part of the Codnor community and we would like to send our deepest appreciation for the support that the Codnor community is giving us now; it is a great comfort to us all daily to see how much she is missed.

A funeral service will be held at St James Church, Crosshill, Codnor on Wednesday 10th May at 11am.

Followed by cremation at Markeaton Crematorium at 1pm. DE22 4NH

Afterwards everyone is welcome to join us at the Codnor Castle Inn, Ormonde fields golf club DE5 9RL for refreshments and to share memories.

The family request family flowers only please.

Maureen had asked that any donations people might wish to make in her name should go to help and support the charities and organisations that supported her; The Nightingale Macmillan day unit at Derby Royal, Treetops Hospice and also St. James Church, Crosshill, Codnor.
These can be left at the service or at Wrights butchers.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing away of much loved Maureen Benniston peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Sunday 16th April 2023 aged 76.

A Long Service Business Award has been awarded to Derek and Maureen from the Codnor Parish Council for their exemplary contribution and service to the community of Codnor over many years
