❤️ Last week I took mum and dad on a little trip up to Southampton to see the wonderful team and trustees of HeartBeat House who looked after Mum and I when dad was having heart surgery back in October at Southampton Hospital . This amazing House is run by a team who looked after us, made mum and I feel so welcome and had us stay for 16 days !! It’s run by a charity organisation and I was so pleased to donate the £340 we raised in our Christmas raffle …. You guys put a huge smile on all there faces , so thank you all so much for buying tickets !!!! It was lovely for mum and I to show dad where we stayed (literally 160 steps from the hospital entrance!!) which allowed us and other family members to be with him when he needed us the most ! We even had a little visit to the ward dad stayed on and thanked the team who kept him going . BE WARNED they’ll be other fundraising ideas in 2026 that will be run for this amazing charity !! ❤️

🚦🚧 Roadworks have begun 🚧🚦

Just a little reminder to you all that after lots of conversations over the past few months chatting about this , the road works have finally begun on Damers Road !!!

I would recommend leaving a little extra time to get to your upcoming appointments, ideally avoiding Damers Road and therefore , if parking using the roads behind the salon . I have been made aware that ALL parking outside the front of the salon will be gone whilst they undergo the work that they are doing over the next 3 months !!

I also just wanted to pop on and say that whilst we always aim to make your time with us enjoyable , quiet and a place of relaxation , with workmen right outside I cannot guarantee this will be the case for the next few months!!! I hope you can all bear with us and that it doesn’t affect your time spent with us in the salon ! We will be doing all we can !

Christmas 2025 at Akemi, DONE!! 🎉🎄🥂🍾

I would say that’s it for the year but we’ve got lots of you booked in on the 30th and New Years eve so we’ll get to see some of your lovely faces then 🥂

I just wanted to pop on and say a MASSIVE THANK YOU to every single one of you for your continued support once again . I say it every year but without you I wouldn’t be able to do what I love every single day . The amount of gifts and fizz we’ve all received surprises me every year , but it’ll keep us going for months 🍾🤣

Some of you know it’s been a tough couple of months for me but you’ve all stuck by me and not one of you has complained about appointments being moved or switched to one of my girls …. You are all totally fab AND On that note you guys have been amazing and I’ve raised a total of £320 to take up to Southampton in January and give to Heartbeat House on this yrs Christmas raffle !!!! I cannot believe we’re all in full “April” swing at Akemi with the sun shining and prepping for holidays , weddings and getting our flip flops out !!

I haven’t done an update for SO long , we love our insta and Facebook stories to keep you all up to date with the salon, last minute spaces and Nail pics but I apologies for being quiet on the page !

Hope has settled back in since her return at the beginning of January and it’s like the 4 of us have never been apart 🩷 Bookings are as busy as ever on our Fresha App , if you haven’t got it yet download and sign up .

Our main update and reason for posting on our page today is that whilst I have refrained from having to do a small price increase for so long now, with the continued rise in EVERYTHING and to maintain the quality of our services this will be happening from the 1st May. As lots of you have known me for so long now this decision was not made lightly but will ensure the products we use and the services we give (and of course the tasty coffees we provide 😉) stay at the highest level that we can provide !!

Prices will start to appear online by the end of the week and will automatically change on Thursday 1st of May .

Lastly and as always I would to thank each and every one of you for your continued support and I CANNOT believe it’ll be 11 years at Akemi for me on the 25th of this month ( we must get some fizz ready 🍾🥂!) I know prices have risen for everyone and I hope the small changes will not effect how you feel about your visit to Akemi …. Packages will still be on offer , our 10% NHS discount on single treatments still stand and monthly offers will still appear !!

Let’s hope the sun comes back out and is shining for Easter at the weekend 🐣 and we can all enjoy a lovely Easter weekend with a little warmth . We’re open Monday -Thursday this week with Good Friday & Saturday closed to enjoy some family time !! Much love Kel x
