That’s called a positive aspiration ⬇️

The injector you choose matters. At Cilio, aspiration is a non-negotiable part of my technique when performing injectable treatments.

So what is aspiration?
It’s when I gently pull back on the plunger before injecting. If blood appears in the syringe, it tells me the needle tip is in a blood vessel, somewhere filler should never be placed.

If that happens, I stop immediately.
I reassess, reposition, aspirate again, and only continue when it’s safe to do so.

As a paramedic, safety isn’t just part of my job; it’s how I’m trained to think. Every decision I make is grounded in clinical judgement, anatomy, and risk awareness.

I don’t just inject and hope for the best, and neither should anyone treating you.
