We know it’s been tricky getting a space with us lately. We’ve been fully booked since the day we opened, which is such a lovely problem to have. But we’ve taken your feedback on board, some of you want to come back but can’t find a space, and others have heard about us and want to try it for the first time but just can’t get in.

Good news though. Kelly’s now been with us six months, delivering a fantastic head spa with her scalp knowledge growing every day. So we’ve opened up the diary for the next three months, August, September and October, with a good mix of weekends and evenings too.

Let’s be honest. Most of us have been buying shampoo for years without having a clue what’s actually in it.

If we’re really honest, it comes down to the smell test. Does it smell nice, does the bottle look good, is it on offer. I’ll put my hand up, I love a bargain and it’s rare I ever pay full price for a shampoo.

But recently everyone’s talking about silicones, parabens and sulphates like we should all know exactly what they are and why they’re bad.

When clients come in for a treatment, I always ask what they’re using at home. Not to judge, just so I can guide them toward something that actually suits their hair. So many times someone tells me they’re sulphate free before they’ve even told me the name of the shampoo. So I ask them, what is a sulphate then. Most of the time the answer is honest. No idea, I just jumped on the bandwagon.

This week I’m going to explain sulphates properly. Next week I’ll move on to parabens, then the week after that, silicones. It’s worth knowing because there are actually people who benefit from sulphates in their routine. I’m not saying we should all go running back to them, but right now everyone’s doing all or nothing, either full sulphates or none at all. Sometimes the sweet spot is somewhere in the middle.

We know how disappointing it can be when you head to our booking page, hoping to find an appointment, only to discover there aren’t any available.

We’ve done our best to accommodate as many of you as possible by adding extra dates and additional evening appointments. More recently, though, we’ve had quite a few people tell us they’ve checked the diary time and time again without any luck.

So, we’ve listened.

We’re going to trial opening our diary three months in advance to make booking a little easier for everyone.

If you’re one of our regular clients and already know you’ll be coming back, we’d definitely recommend securing your future appointments while your preferred dates are available. Only a deposit is required to reserve your space.

At the same time, opening the diary further ahead also gives new clients a much better opportunity to plan ahead, secure an appointment and finally experience Head HQ, instead of checking back week after week hoping a space appears.

It does mean you may be booking a little further ahead than before, but you’ll have the reassurance of knowing your appointment is secured and something truly relaxing to look forward to.

Our hope is that this makes booking simpler, fairer and less frustrating for everyone.
