I thought it was about time I reintroduced myself on here, I’m not the best at keeping this up to date but I’m still here doing what I love ✂️

I’m Ashleigh, 29 (clinging on to the last month in my twenties 😅) and I’ve been in the hair industry for 13 years, fully qualified for 11 through SLC. Over the years I have been in a few salons but I’m currently mobile and have been for 6 years, and I love giving my clients a 1-1 service in the comfort of their own home and building relationships with them 🫶🏼

My favourite thing to do hair wise would probably be a colour correction, taking someone’s hair from dark to light over time to achieve their desired result is a project I love, or fixing a DIY job and seeing faces of relief after it. Above all that being the highlight of someone’s week because they’ve had their hair done is what makes my job worthwhile 🥰

When I’m not using my scissors you’d find me cleaning 😂 I LOVE to tidy up, organise and clean the house, I know that’s a literal chore for some people but for me it’s so therapeutic 🫧

Colour freshen up for my bestiee ✨

Colour correction 🎨
This client contacted me explaining she’d been using black box dye for years and attempted stripping the colour herself hoping to go blonde, which went horribly wrong 🫣

We agreed to do a balayage to lighten up the ends where box dye still remained, avoiding lighter patches to even it out. I put a tint in between it all to cover what had been lightened too much and neutralise warmth, finished with a toner and a well needed trim ✂️
Over five hours later, we have a good starting point for building up blonde in future ✨

It’s important to understand that it’s highly unlikely to go from dark to light in one sitting, this will take time ⏱

Warm tones are expected, as the hair starts to lift the natural undertone comes out which if your hair is black/dark brown the hair lifts to red/orange, this also depends on how much build up of colour is in the hair. It’s then my job to counteract these colours as much as I can 🍁

It’s also super important to maintain your hairs health throughout your lightening journey, I can’t stress enough how important it is to carry out the correct aftercare - hydration 💧 conditioning treatments, leave in conditioner, oils & regular trims are absolutely essential!
