Our booking system has recently undergone an update that means clients will NO LONGER RECEIVE REMINDER TEXTS for appointments.
We understand a lot of our clients relied on this to remind them about upcoming appointments. Instead, please remember to make a note of your appointment in a diary, phone - whatever works best for you!

Very true though for the issues our industry face
on a daily basis. While most cancellations are legit, many just do not turn up for appointments. Please be considerate with this in the run up to Christmas. We usually always have waiting lists so spaces can be filled if we have adequate cancellation time.
Would you work for free?
There are many issues facing the Hair and Beauty industry right now and one of the big issues is no shows and cancellations.
I have had over the last few months a few very brutal, angry emails because I have charged people for not attending their appointments. Not just I’m annoyed at this, but out right venom at me.
So here is a little bit of truth about salons and their owners… many of us have been working for free or a loss. I learnt how to do business side of things as I went along and I’m still learning, but for a large part of owning my salon I took out what I needed to survive. Some months I took nothing, ensuring first and foremost staff were paid first.
That’s working 7 days a week, every waking hour and earning next to nothing, largely down to no shows.
Ive worked hard to build our clientele and I worked on the important things like knowing the figures.
This means that each service we provide is priced to cover costs and carefully planned.
I’m seeing salons saying they are having £100s a week in no shows and they are on the brink of closing. At one point I could loose over £200 per day in no shows and cancellations, just consider what that means at the end of the month…. Yep I didn’t get paid.
So I take booking fees and I charge people for late cancellations and no shows because we are selling our time and paying the bills depends on us utilising our availability.
If you arrived at the airport late you are unlikely to get your money back if you miss the plane. That airline based its finances on a set amount of seats been filled and staffed accordingly.
Most services where you aren’t buying an item are Pre paid, the hair and beauty industry are only just catching up with this and are always one of the least “respected” industries, it’s also largely female dominated..
So as we approach Christmas please respect the time of salons and other professionals who’s time you book out, we are all still rebuilding from covid
