As the days are getting shorter, the biting winds are in full blow and the colder months are creeping upon us, it’s time to start thinking about ways to prevent all kinds of winter blues.
The intensity of these frigid and gloomy months have a troublesome way of throwing our bodies out of balance, both mentally and physically.
As our energy balance (Qi) is thrown off, our bodies become more susceptible to catching unwanted sicknesses, ranging from the winter cold, to the flu, chest infections and even COVID 19.
In addition, the bitterness of the cold tends to stiffen our joints, causing our bodies to slow down, including the process of healing. Not only does this increase any existing arthritis pains, but also prolongs any healing that our bodies are working in overdrive to promote.
The best thing you can do for your mental and physical wellbeing is to practice self-care.
Our recommendations for practicing self-care are;
- Drinking lots of decaffeinated/ herbal /loose leaf teas.
- Prioritizing getting plenty of sleep.
- Eating our favourite nutritious foods and ensuring meals are well-balanced.
- Getting regular acupuncture can help towards prevention of seasonal struggles.
- Practicing mindfulness and meditation.
- Staying active as much as possible.
- Most importantly.. Drink lots and lots of warm water!
If you have any questions or inquiries, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us by messaging us here on Facebook, emailing us at [email protected] or by calling our phone numbers at 0131 554 7888 or 0131 554 0808.

**May/June 2022 Update**
It may be a late spring but it is here nonetheless and hopefully here to stay! Let us be kind to one another as we would wish the seasons to be kind to us.
We would kindly ask everyone to adhere to our face-mask policy within our premises which will continue to be in place until further notice.
The health & wellbeing of our clients and staff remains our first priority, therefore we will still be implementing policies that suit the needs of our clinic, similar to other medical & healthcare settings such as hospitals and GPs, regardless of restrictions lifting for many businesses in Scotland.
We truly thank you for your understanding.
All the best,
All of us at the Ming Chen Clinics
