Well due to the bad weather, we had to put a pin in our Scafell trip - so we changed the plan but not the goal 💪🏻

We still had the bestest of days, full of laughter and good vibes. In total we covered 10 miles from Loggerheads country park, to the top of a very wind Moel Famau, then down to Devils Gorge, and followed River Alyn back to Loggerheads.

A big appreciation to everyone that came, and a big shout out to Nathan James-BTRU / It's Good 2 Talk for planning, Marc for the aerial drone footage, Mandy for making sure there were no awkward silences for the entirety of the trip, Shaun @ Exclusive Travel who got us there and back in one piece and has kindly donated the money for the bus to charity.
And another massive shout out to Kev and the amazing team @ Weaver’s Whistle, who provided us with an amazing post hike carvery - on the house!! Kevs continued and unwavering support means the world and never goes unnoticed 💚

It’s not about the wind or rain, it’s not about the location or beating a time - it’s about turning up and doing it together as a team.

The next stop (fingers crossed 🤞🏻) will be Scafell Pike.

If you’ve ever wanted to do it, but never been able to, or had no-one to go with, our trips are open to everyone over 18. We have a mixed bag of fitness and abilities, with everyone following the golden rule - no one’s left behind

Still 2 seats left on the bus.

If you’ve ever wanted to do it, but not been able to, or had no one to go with, this could be for you. We have 15 lovely likeminded people already signed up, with the common goal that we do it as a team, and leave no one behind

We have a couple of spaces left for this, and I was wondering if you would like to join in.

Sunday 29th March, being driven up to Seathwaite Car Park by Shaun from Exclusive Travel, leaving at 5am.

We all stick together, it's not about beating times or each other, it's about doing it as a group.

If youre an adult, and you want to scale England's highest peak, this is your opportunity.

The cost is £21 for the transport.

If you want to conquer Scafell with us, please get in touch. If its not for you, could you please share, tag, so we can fill these last spaces.

When you climb, the horizon changes. You see further. Things that felt heavy start to feel smaller. And you realise you’re capable of more than you thought.

Sometimes all it takes is one small decision to change your view.

A few years ago, I noticed something while looking in the mirror… a small bald patch that hadn’t been there before.

At first I thought it was just a bad trim or hair catching the light differently. But over time it became clear it was something else.

It turned out to be alopecia.

For anyone who doesn’t know, alopecia is a condition that causes hair loss, often in small smooth patches. One of the most common types, alopecia areata, happens when the immune system attacks the hair follicles.

When you work as a barber, hair is literally your world. So experiencing hair loss yourself can mess with your confidence a bit.

But in a strange way, it also changed how I see things in the chair.

Now when I notice a patch during a haircut or beard trim, I understand what someone might be feeling. It’s not just about the hair — it’s about confidence.

As barbers we’re not doctors, but we can help by:
• Adjusting cuts to blend patches naturally
• Recommending styles that work with the hair someone has
• Being respectful about how we bring it up
• Making sure the chair feels like a safe space

That’s what The Open Chair with Dave is all about.

Sometimes the conversations in the chair matter just as much as the haircut itself.

If you’ve ever experienced alopecia yourself, you’re definitely not alone. 👊
