Lymphatic drainage has become incredibly popular, but not all training is the same.

When you're trusting someone with your health or post-surgery recovery, choose a therapist with recognised, hands on training and professional certification eg (Vodder, FG-MLD, Casley-Smith, Foldi, Leduc or Godoy-Godoy). Some of those trained in the above will also be trained in Post Surgery treatments too.

If you're looking for a qualified Manual Lymphatic Drainage therapist, visit MLDUK.org.uk here you will find therapist near to you who have completed recognised training and meet professional standards.

Your body deserves expertise. 💙

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿⚽ If you watched England brave out that incredible win against Mexico, you’ll know the squad ran themselves into the ground at intense altitude and with 10 men. With the next match this Saturday, recovery is everything. Enter the medical team’s secret weapon: Lymphatic Drainage. 🏃

⚽ Recovery matters just as much as performance.

After an intense match, players have to recover quickly to be ready for the next challenge. Long periods of high-intensity running, physical contact, and fatigue can leave muscles sore and the body feeling drained.

Extreme exertion causes muscle micro-tears, inflammation, and a heavy buildup of metabolic waste. Because the lymphatic system relies on external pressure to move fluid, England's therapists use Lymphatic Drainage to:

✨ Support the body's natural lymphatic system
✨ Reduce fluid retention and feelings of heaviness
✨ Encourage relaxation by activating the "rest and digest" nervous system
✨ Leave you feeling lighter and refreshed

The science is exactly the same for you. You don’t need an England cap to experience it! Whether you are dealing with post-workout soreness, travel bloating, stubborn fluid retention, or just want to detoxify and feel lighter, Lymphatic Drainage is a game changer.

Bring World Cup-level recovery to your routine right here in Exminster. 🙌

Endometriosis doesn’t just affect the reproductive system, it can impact the whole body. When inflammation and toxin buildup occur, the lymphatic system works overtime trying to restore balance.

💧 Lymphatic drainage may help by:

👉 Encouraging the reduction of inflammation and swelling
👉 Supporting detoxification and fluid balance
👉 Improving circulation around the abdominal and pelvic areas
👉 Promoting relaxation and easing nervous system tension

While lymphatic drainage is not a treatment for endometriosis itself, it can complement medical management and help the body cope with associated symptoms. Regular sessions may assist in reducing discomfort and improving overall wellbeing.

💚 It’s not a cure, but it’s a beautiful way to support your body through the journey.

This system was once called the 'last frontier of anatomy', it's now one of the most exciting areas of medical research! Answer by the way is the lymphatic system - your body's unsung drainage, defence and repair network.

It's Not Obesity. It's Lipoedema!

🚨 Not all larger legs are caused by obesity.

If you've spent years dieting, exercising, and losing weight everywhere except your legs, there may be another explanation.

Lipoedema is a chronic condition that causes an abnormal build-up of fat, most commonly in the legs and hips. It's often painful, easily bruised, and doesn't respond to diet and exercise in the same way as ordinary body fat.

Common signs include:
⚠️ Disproportionately large legs
⚠️ Tenderness or pain
⚠️ Easy bruising
⚠️ Heavy, aching limbs
⚠️ Little change despite weight loss

Many women are told to "just lose weight" before they ever receive the correct diagnosis.

Awareness matters. Understanding matters. And most importantly, support matters.

Ongoing swelling isn’t something you should just expect to “wait out” if it’s not settling as quickly as it should.

After surgery, the lymphatic system can become temporarily overwhelmed or disrupted, which means excess fluid isn’t cleared away efficiently. Instead, it can remain trapped in the tissues, leading to persistent swelling.

This can show up as:
• Ongoing puffiness that won’t reduce
• Tightness or pressure in the area
• Slower healing than expected
• Results not yet looking as refined as they should

The positive part is that there is support available.

Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) is a gentle, specialist technique designed to assist the body in moving this fluid more effectively, helping to:
✔️ Encourage fluid drainage
✔️ Reduce swelling and inflammation
✔️ Support the healing process
✔️ Improve comfort during recovery

The earlier you support your lymphatic system, the better your recovery experience can be.
