On 4th May 2026, Lisa Baker and Stuart Driver will be taking to the skies above Compton Abbas Airfield in North Dorset.

Their mission?

To go where others fear to, to embark on the unnecessary, to smash the boundaries of “what did you get up to at the weekend?” conversations.

Yes, this unlikely duo will be embarking on a Wing-Walk, strapped to the upper wing of an ancient Bi-Plane. They might be laughing. There might be screams. They might utter the odd expletive. Whichever they choose, it will certainly not be heard from the ground!

The brainchild of Lisa, this ridiculous idea rapidly grew arms and legs (and let’s hope we still have all of those after the event) during what was initially advertised as an innocent dinner party invitation. Others at the same dinner managed to escape, unharmed and unchallenged.

There’s a lesson in there for you, Driver….

In all seriousness, this is truly borne-out by our mutual desire to raise as much support funding for Weldmar Hospice as we possibly can. Tragically, we lost a close friend recently. Way too soon. Way too lovely a person for any of us to lose. So very much loved and respected in the village we live in, and most importantly by her wonderful husband and strapping sons.

Weldmar were stunning in her care. Nothing was too much trouble. Love, respect and privacy was abundant. The whole thing appeared seamless, effortless - but professionalism and care, practicality and that peaceful, private environment were such a godsend as the inevitable conclusion approached.

This isn’t your standard fundraiser, and while Lisa might be short but fierce as hell, Stuart is openly scared of heights…

Please, please sponsor Weldmar. They do such fantastic work, and as the cure we are all hoping for isn’t here yet, many others will need their ongoing care.
