Looks like the good weather is going to be with us for a while. Bear in mind that heatstroke can develop very quickly in dogs, so definitely a time to be extra vigilant, especially with those that are older, overweight or short-faced breeds. Best to limit walks to the coolest times of the day 👍🏻

Hi everyone, I hope you are all safe and well.

I'm aware that a few other groomers have been reopening, but in the interest of protecting your families and my own, I won't be following suit until officially told that it's safe for me to do so. In the meantime, I am putting measures in place to ensure that the salon and grooming procedures will be as safe as possible when we're good to go.

Hope to see you soon

For those of you who have decided to have a go with the clippers, I can only say please be very careful, especially if you’ve never done it before. The blade that is included with a lot of clippers tends to be a #10 which will only leave around 2mm of hair, i.e. pretty much bald, so check that before you start. Such a short blade will also make nicking the skin much more likely, especially if your dog makes any sudden movements.

If you need to clear hair from the corners of the eyes, best bet is to use round-tipped safety scissors to avoid doing any damage there.

I’m sure you’ve all been doing an amazing job with brushing and combing 😉 but if there are isolated knots that need to be cut out, then using thinning scissors will make it less obvious that a chunk is missing!

If you need any advice, drop me a message. Stay safe x
