It’s a month of markets!
This Saturday I’m back at Johnstone Town Hall with the fantastic Wild Ivy. These are such beautifully curated events with such a wonderful array of talented artisan. Take a wee look at my stories to see what mean.

Rescue Balm made its official debut at last Saturday’s market and it was a sell out. Back in the apothecary today making a fresh batch.

This is a product very close to my heart, being one of the very first preparations I formulated. It was made with so much love, and specifically for my son.

Since he was a very small toddler he has been affected by eczema. Over the years we tried various natural remedies and balms and sometimes had to resort to steroid creams when things became unmanageable.

Anyone who suffers with this condition knows how distressing it is and to watch your child become an adult with this constant battle is heart breaking. To have been able to support my son's skin was what powered me through my journey to become a skincare formulator.

For so long this balm has been known as 'Dillon balm' in our family. But now it's making it's debut with a new name,

Formulated with the unique Tamanu Oil a power house anti-inflammatory that has demonstrated an ability to rapidly regenerate new skin, repair nerves and diminish scars.

Medicinal herbs Calendula, Comfrey and Lavender further enhance its healing qualities to soothe and repair inflamed, irritated and itchy skin.

It's a medicine cabinet staple, it's great for soothing bug bites and minor cuts and grazes and 'rescuing' skin from eczema and inflamed acne flareups while also supporting skin issues including rosacea, rashes, itchy inflamed skin and psoriasis.

HYDRATED SKIN WORKS BETTER
Hydration is so important to achieve radiant, resilient skin, and when it comes from whole plants, it’s so effective.
If you’re using waterless preparations your skin isn’t being hydrated!

But water alone isn’t enough. True hydration comes from water AND water-soluble nutrients like polysaccharides, minerals, and flavonoids. Every function of the skin works better when it’s hydrated. And yes, it looks better too, plump, soft and a little bit bouncy.
Plants don’t just add water, they bind it, move it, and help your skin hold it.

Luibh Essences contain lush softening petals, strengthening roots, and dew-rich leaves all working in synergy.

In Enchanted Garden Essence Rose Petals and Marshmallow Root are the hero’s, providing ample amounts of nature’s own take on hyaluronic acid, B vitamins such as niacin, betaine, and polysaccharides. Gotu Kola and Turmeric to stimulate collagen production, even skin tone and support the ageing process and Helichrysum for its regenerative properties.

Spritz liberally and apply Luibh Serum or Balm on top to seal in the hydration.

How’s your skin barrier?
Exfoliators, cleansers with harsh surfactants or over-cleansing strips away the protective lipids and proteins your skin needs to retain moisture. This leaves skin vulnerable to dehydration, redness, irritation, and breakouts.

A compromised barrier lacks the resilience to keep environmental irritants out, leading to sensitivity and dryness. The tell-tale sign that your cleanser is damaging your barrier is a “squeaky-clean” or tight sensation after cleansing. Healthy skin should feel soft, plump, and comfortable after cleansing.

Purity Cleanser Concentrate has been formulated to support the protective skin barrier it’s beneficial blend of organic plant oils have been chosen for their ability to effectively dissolve impurities on the surface of the skin and within the pores, without disrupting our natural protective skin barrier and beneficial microbiome.

Rich in carotenoids and antioxidants from botanicals including Lavender, Calendula, and Liquorice and anti-inflammatory oils such as Chia and Seasame seed, it has antibacterial properties, to relieve irritation and calm the skin.
