Some of these might have hit a little close to home.
And if they did, it’s worth knowing this isn’t just “in your head.”
A lot of what we call stress or anxiety is actually your nervous system being stuck in overdrive for too long.
This week is European Mental Health Week 2026, and while there’s a lot of focus on mindset (which absolutely has its place), there’s also something quieter that often gets overlooked - the body.
Because real regulation doesn’t always start with thinking differently.
Sometimes it starts with feeling safe enough to slow down.
That’s where reflexology comes in.
Through gentle, targeted pressure on the feet, it can help support the body’s natural shift out of that constant “on edge” state - encouraging deeper relaxation, better sleep, and a nervous system that isn’t working overtime.
It’s not about fixing you.
It’s about giving your body the space to do what it’s been trying to do all along.

The wellness space can be… loud.
There’s always something new to try, something to fix, something to optimise.
More routines. More rules. More pressure to “do it right.”
But not everything that works has to shout.
Reflexology takes a different approach. It’s not about pushing your body harder or layering on more. It’s about working with it - gently, intentionally, and at a pace your system can actually respond to.
No overwhelm. No extremes.
Just subtle, steady support that builds over time.
And sometimes, that’s exactly what’s needed.

We often talk about how reflexology feels - calming, grounding, restorative.
But what’s happening underneath that?
A double-blind randomised controlled trial (the gold standard in research) looked at what happens in the body during a reflexology session.
Researchers measured real-time cardiovascular responses in healthy volunteers and found:
✔️ Immediate changes in haemodynamics (how blood flows through the body)
✔️ A measurable effect on cardiac function, specifically the cardiac index
✔️ Effects observed during targeted reflexology on foot areas linked to the heart
In simple terms?
This wasn’t just “feeling relaxed” — the body showed objective, physiological changes in real time.
It’s a powerful reminder that touch therapies like reflexology can have measurable impacts beyond relaxation alone.

Keeping flexible and pain free in the garden with KCR.

You get so used to the pace of everything that you stop questioning it.
Always on the go, always thinking about the next thing… just getting through it.
And then you lie down for reflexology and realise - oh.
I haven’t actually stopped in a while.
It’s not dramatic or life-changing in a big flashy way.
It’s just a quiet pause. A bit of space. A chance for your body to catch up.
