**New pool pod at Witham Leisure Centre set to boost accessibility** 👍

🌊 I’m really pleased to share that Braintree District Council has installed a brand-new, upgraded pool pod at Witham Leisure Centre.

This state-of-the-art lift, originally developed for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, makes it easier and safer for people with disabilities, reduced mobility, or other physical challenges to enjoy the pool. It allows users to enter and exit the water with dignity and without the need for multiple transfers.

It’s fantastic to see continued investment in inclusive facilities that help more residents take part in swimming and stay active. 🏊‍♀️💙

We love hearing stories like this one from South Oxhey Leisure Centre, where a swimmer with disabilities praised their fantastic accessible facilities! 🏊‍♂️ At Poolpod, we’re proud of our product that’s transforming lives by making swimming easy and dignified for people with mobility challenges.

Swimming provides many physical and mental health benefits, including pain relief and suitability for low-impact exercises. Yet, many are kept from experiencing these benefits due to outdated accessibility solutions, like traditional pool hoists.

We recently have launched our new Poolpod 3.0, that provides dignified, independent pool entry for wheelchair users and anyone who finds ladders challenging​​. Featuring intuitive controls, space for a caregiver, and integrated seats, perfectly made to ride with a friend.

Swimmer with one leg hails 'life-changing' facilities at leisure centre A woman who lost her leg at age 25 can now swim regularly - thanks to the Poolpod and Changing Places facilities at South Oxhey Leisure Centre.

👏 Congratulations to all athletes who participated in the 2024 Paralympics! Your achievements inspire us all. Poolpod was born from a design competition for the London 2012 Paralympics, and we couldn’t be prouder to continue supporting inclusive swimming. Here’s to the athletes, and here’s to the future!
