As a parent or carer, you know that something as simple as a haircut can sometimes feel overwhelming.

At Nova Hair & Beauty, we understand that every child is different. With over 20 years’ experience supporting children and adults with additional needs, we know that patience, understanding and good communication can make all the difference.

That’s why we’ve introduced PECS-style visual communication cards into our appointments. These picture cards help children understand what’s happening next and give them a simple way to communicate how they’re feeling, what they need, or if they’d like a break.

Our appointments can include:

There is no expectation for your child to sit perfectly or have a “perfect” haircut. Our priority is building trust, creating positive experiences and helping every child feel safe and respected.

Whether it’s their very first haircut or they’ve struggled with haircuts in the past, we’re here to work at their pace.
