Could stronger sunbed regulation be on the horizon?
Following the UV Safety Report by the Beauty, Hair and Wellbeing APPG, the Government has opened a consultation on proposed changes to sunbed regulation in England, with a focus on reducing preventable skin cancer deaths.
Measures under review include mandatory ID checks, supervised use, clearer health warnings, protective eyewear and tighter restrictions around misleading health claims.
It’s a welcome step in the right direction but do these proposals go far enough, or is more needed to protect the public? 🤔
