New Appointment Policy – Effective January 2026.
From January 2026, I will be introducing a new booking policy that is essential for the continuation of my business.
After many years of being self-employed, I have unfortunately experienced a high number of last-minute cancellations and appointment changes. These come at a significant cost to me as a small business owner, which is why I now need to introduce a 50% deposit for all appointments.
I understand that for some clients this may not be an issue, while for others it may feel like a change. Please know that this decision is not personal—it is purely to protect my business.
As a mobile hairdresser, I carefully plan my days and travel routes to ensure everything runs smoothly. When an appointment is cancelled or moved with less than 48 hours’ notice, it is almost impossible to fill that time. This often leaves large gaps in my day where I am unable to work and unpaid for the time that was reserved specifically for that client. One change can impact my entire schedule, not just my convenience but my income.
I have never enforced deposits before, but it has reached a point where I have no other choice.
Cancellation & Appointment Change Policy
• 48 hours’ notice or less
50% of the appointment cost will be retained.
To book a new appointment, a new 50% deposit will be required to secure the date.
• 24 hours’ notice or less
100% of the appointment cost will be charged.
The remaining balance must be paid before another appointment can be booked.
I will send my bank details or PayPal information once you are ready to book. Please note that your appointment will not be booked until the deposit has been paid. Once the deposit is received, I will confirm this with a message.
If you would like to pay a cash deposit, this must be done at your appointment when booking your next one.
Any existing appointments already booked for January will remain secure. Moving forward, all new bookings will be subject to a 50% deposit.
This policy is no different from other services we all use. When you purchase cinema or theatre tickets, book dental or solicitor appointments, or pay for holidays, refunds are not usually given if you cannot attend. These policies are standard practice to ensure businesses do not lose out—and this is the same principle.

Cancellations or appointment changes made with less than 24 hours’ notice will incur the full cost of the appointment. As a small business, last-minute cancellations have a significant impact. Each appointment slot is reserved exclusively for you, and with limited notice, it is often not possible to offer that time to another client. This policy helps support the sustainability of my business and enables me to continue providing a high standard of service to all clients.
Payment Policy…
All payments must be made prior to the appointment or immediately after the service is completed. This ensures a smooth and efficient process and allows me to maintain high-quality service.
Skin Test Policy…
A skin test is required at least 48 hours before any colour service. This is essential for your safety and ensures that all products used are suitable for you.
