More and more I hear how intimidating or anxiety producing noisy hair salons are. We always believed, as stylists, that people liked the buzz, the noise and the bright lights of a salon whilst being amongst other people!

The truth behind the use of extreme heat tools and particularly hair straighteners (even GHD)....

Where temperature actually matters....

According to thermal studies on hair fibers

Extreme heat, around 160 to 170°C (320 to 338°F) and above causes measurable damage - Straighteners at the lower end are operating at 180/185°, at the high end are reaching 200/210°

🫯Protein degradation - weakness and lack of elasticity or spring and bounce

🌋Cuticle fracture - lack of shine

🌬️Oxidation of pigment - fading colour, both hair dye and natural colour

That is real heat damage

That is what affects your color and the structure of your hair...

When Jacqui had her ASD diagnosis in 2019-2020 there was NO support, no one she could go to and ask questions.....and I'm sure late diagnosed like her had a lot of questions.
All there was were younger people on Instagram, Facebook, being diagnosed & not relevant to Jacqui.

" A lot of grief of "if only I'd known at 20s, 30s" but, grief of a life lost, misunderstood and a lot of us experienced a lot of and struggling to work. An understanding that much older diagnosed people, in particular women...have truly struggled."
