🦶 This week at BNI Business Connect, we enjoyed an engaging and interactive feature presentation from Faye Vogiatzoglou at Medipod Clinics.

Rather than simply telling us about podiatry, Faye got everyone involved with a fun game, challenging members to match different foot conditions to the types of jobs or lifestyles that might contribute to them. It was a brilliant way to demonstrate just how varied foot problems can be, and how they can affect people from all walks of life.

The presentation also highlighted the breadth of services available at Medipod Clinics. From routine foot care, verrucas and ingrown toenails to nail surgery, biomechanics, and computerised gait analysis, Faye and the team have the expertise and latest treatments to help people get back on their feet.

One of the biggest takeaways was just how easy it is to put off foot pain, often assuming it's something you simply have to live with. Whether you're a runner, spend long hours on your feet at work, or have been ignoring an ongoing problem, getting expert advice can make a real difference.

🧠 Last week at BNI Business Connect, we enjoyed a thought-provoking feature presentation from Kelly Allen of Admin Assassin.

Kelly gave members an insight into how she supports busy business owners by taking the stress out of everyday admin, from inbox and diary management to CRM systems and social media.

One of the highlights of the presentation was Kelly's demonstration of the Spoon Theory, using fellow member Sharon to help explain how people, particularly those who are neurodivergent, have a limited amount of mental and physical energy each day. Every task uses up a "spoon", making even routine admin feel overwhelming at times.

By taking those time-consuming administrative tasks off a business owner's plate, Kelly helps free up both time and mental capacity, allowing them to focus on running and growing their business.

While Kelly has a particular passion for supporting neurodivergent business owners, her flexible and personal approach benefits any busy business owner who feels buried under emails, struggling to manage their diary, or simply needs an extra pair of hands.

🌿 Last week at BNI Business Connect, we were treated to an engaging feature presentation from Alison Preston of NuMe Health Coaching.

Rather than simply telling us about what she does, Alison gave members a short demonstration of what one of her health coaching consultations is like. It was a great way to experience her approach first-hand and understand how she helps people make positive changes to their health and wellbeing.

Looking after ourselves often falls to the bottom of the priority list, especially for busy business owners. Alison works with individuals to help them feel better, improve their wellbeing, and develop healthier habits that last.

We also learned how businesses can benefit from health coaching. Supporting staff to stay healthy, manage stress, and prioritise their wellbeing can have a real impact on both individuals and the workplace as a whole.

This week, Cam demonstrated one of BNI's key principles: Specific is Terrific. Rather than asking for a general introduction, he was highly specific about the charity he would like to speak with, making it much easier for fellow members to identify relevant opportunities and connections.

As specialists in digital marketing, including Google Ads and lead generation, BBOSS helps businesses and organisations attract more of the right customers through effective online marketing.

🍕 A couple of weeks ago, we enjoyed a fantastic pizza-making experience at Pane & Gusto .

While our weekly meetings focus on helping one another grow our businesses through referrals and introductions, events like these give us the opportunity to get to know each other away from the business environment.

One of the things that makes our chapter special is the relationships we build. Trust is at the heart of BNI, and the stronger those relationships become, the better we can support one another and our clients.

There was plenty of laughter, great conversation, and some impressive pizza-making skills on display! 👨‍🍳

Last week at BNI Business Connect, we were treated to a brilliant feature presentation from Ray Carr at Key Accountants.

Rather than a traditional presentation, Ray took us through the world of accountancy in the style of the Football World Cup - which was a really engaging and memorable way to learn more about what he and the team do. It definitely kept everyone’s attention (and probably proved that accounting and football can go together after all!).

One of the biggest takeaways was just how wide-ranging the support from Key Accountants can be for businesses of all sizes. Whether it’s VAT, bookkeeping, tax planning, advice around electric vehicles, business growth, exit and sale strategies, or simply having someone sensible to speak to when you need financial guidance - Ray and the team clearly offer far more than just “doing the books”.
