This lady wanted a subtle change, with increased definition of her cupid's bow. We used a small amount of filler to enhance the volume and shape of the lips and achieved the result she wanted.

How long does botox last for?

Botox lasts for an average of 3-4 months before wearing off. Depending on multiple factors, this could be as short as 2 months or as long as 6 months. We will cover these factors in a later post!

Is bigger always better?

This lady came in wanting a subtle look with increased definition. The way we achieved this was by filling the vermillion border; we did not fill the body of the lip. After lip treatments, the lips naturally swell and appear slightly larger than they will be. This settles within 2-3 days.

Can I wear makeup after my procedure?

No!

We strongly advise people to avoid makeup for at least 6-12hrs after the procedure. This lets the skin heal, reducing the chance of getting a skin infection. It also stops you moving the product whilst applying makeup, which could lead to a poorer outcome.

Anti wrinkle treatment💉

This lady came in for a review of her botox, having had regular treatment for the last few years.

She wanted a "frozen" forehead, with almost complete reduction of her forehead wrinkles. After 2 weeks, we called her in for review and potential top up. She was very happy with the result and did not need a top up on this occasion, but we always keep a vial of botox ready in case!

Aspiration when injecting filler is so imprtant because it reduces the chance of injecting into an artery. If this happens, filler can travel up the arteries, blocking off blood supply to certain parts of the face, leading to vascular occlusions - these are nasty!

With reduced oxygen to the part of the face, the skin will become damaged and start to slough off, turning black or necrotic in medical terms. Not nice!

👄Lip augmentation

This lady had previous lip filler before, however was unhappy with past experiences. She wanted to avoid the "duck lips" look she had in the past. During the consultation, she expressed a wish to have greater lip definition over volume. We agreed to mainly fill the vermillion border of her top lip, with a small volume of filler in the lip bodies to help balance her profile. All in all, a fantastic result!
