Why I don’t apply SPF immediately after microneedling…

A client recently asked me why I didn’t apply SPF straight after her treatment, especially as she had experienced this elsewhere before, and it’s such a good question.

SPF is absolutely important after microneedling — but for me, it’s about timing, formula and protecting the skin barrier.

Straight after microneedling, the skin has been intentionally stimulated and the barrier is temporarily more vulnerable. This is not the time I want to apply unnecessary ingredients, potential irritants, fragrance, alcohols or chemical filters onto freshly needled skin.

My priority immediately after treatment is to keep the skin calm, clean, protected and irritation-free.
