Not every “wart” is just a wart…

A patient recently came in wanting removal of three lesions she believed were warts. On closer inspection, I wasn’t comfortable with how they looked, so we carried out screening in clinic. Within 24 hours, results came back with a working diagnosis of three squamous cell carcinomas.

The patient was promptly referred into the NHS two-week pathway, seen by dermatology, and had the skin cancers surgically removed — all within just three weeks.

This is a reminder of how important it is to properly assess skin lesions rather than assume they are harmless. Early detection and quick action can make all the difference.

Patient Update ✨

Back in December, this lovely patient came to see us with a lesion he wanted checked and removed. Following screening in clinic, we were able to get a swift diagnosis from a Dermatologist confirming Squamous Cell Carcinoma (skin cancer).

With the report in hand, he visited his GP and was fast-tracked into NHS Dermatology for treatment. The lesion has now been successfully removed, and as you can see, in the last image just 10 days later he is healing really well 🙌
