The only way to guarantee you receive a genuine weight-loss medicine is to obtain it from a legitimate pharmacy, including those trading online, against a prescription issued by a healthcare professional. If youā€™re offered a weight-loss medicine in any other circumstances, whether online or offline, they are putting your health at serious risk and breaking the law. The MHRA continually monitors the safety of all licensed weight-loss medicines, which are known clinically as GLP-1 Receptor Agonists (RAs) and current evidence shows the benefits outweigh the risks when they are used for their licensed indications. But with this comes the scammers, the fakes, the unscrupulous, the crooks, and the threat to life. . The people supplying them might be your hairdresser, your nail technician, your personal trainer, a lady your friend voucher for. They might seem like nice people! āš ļøWARNING: Thereā€™s no such things as the ā€˜version that doesnā€™t need a prescriptionā€™ when it comes to injecting into humans. GLP-1ā€™s: ALL THESE DRUGS NEED TO BE SUPPLIED ON A PRESCRIPTION VIA A PHARMACY. āš ļø the fake products may even work! But the doses will be inaccurate leading to problems, the formulation may contain harmful impurities, or it may be insulin which has been the cause of death. You roll the dice every-time you purchase a fake supply. The medicines regulator issued a warning last week, 5073 reports of significant side effects and 46 hospitalisations. And I know there have been 2 deaths. This is UNDERREPORTING OF THE ISSUE. Thereā€™s a vast issue with illegal and dangerous supply of these drugs. Medicines, if managed by an appropriately trained health care professional, are in the main low risk. I believe these figures are being skewed by the typical dodgy practice that goes in our unregulated ā€˜aestheticsā€™ sector in the UK. .
