Five years. What a journey it’s been. It feels like just yesterday that I was getting the keys to Butler’s Barbering. Opening up right after the first COVID lockdown was a massive leap of faith. The high street was quiet, and so was my shop. I won’t lie, there were days I wondered if I’d made a huge mistake, pouring all my savings into this dream.

But my mam, God bless her, always told me, “That place will work as a business of any kind. Just go for it.” She was right. She always had a way of seeing things clearly.

Exactly one year later, I suddenly lost her. Returning to the shop was tough. The grief felt all-consuming. But something amazing happened. My customers, you all, helped me through it. Our chats in the chair weren’t just about haircuts; they were a lifeline. Your support and kindness helped me find my footing again.

Being a barber is more than just a job. It’s physically and mentally demanding, but it’s also incredibly rewarding. Getting to know all of you, sharing stories, and being a small part of your lives is what makes it all worth it.

So, to my incredible clients—thank you. Thank you for your unwavering support, your loyalty, and for being the best community a barber could ask for.
