We hope an agreement is reached to reduce plastic production at the UN conference tomorrow!

Most countries want this, but there is strong opposition from oil-producing nations including Russia and Saudi Arabia, who need plastic production for the oil industry as we move to greener technologies.

The outcome might be out of our control, but we can send the opposing nations a strong message by having another go at cutting down our own use of single use plastic.

Here are 6 simple ways we can all make a difference this week and into the future...
1. Buy loose fruit and veg

We’d like to share a photo of one of our hand creams sold in a genuinely recyclable container as Aluminium features in the BBC News today.

This fabulously light weight packaging material has impressive recyclability credentials. The article suggests a move from plastic to aluminium for toiletries could substantially reduce the amount of plastic packaging in the world, thanks to the high recycling rate of aluminium cans compared to plastic - 81% vs 52%, according to figures from the National Packaging Waste Database.

It’s also infinitely recyclable, compared with plastic, which loses its quality after being recycled several times.

I just read a post by Purdy & Figg about one of their products. It’s a spray that can be used to clean any surface - genius!

All too often large manufacturers let us think we need lots of products, to make us buy more stuff, when one will do. You can multi task with products at too!
